Hillary Clinton urges condemnation of Honduran action
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
5:45 PM EDT, June 28, 2009
WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says the action taken against Honduras' president should be condemned by everyone.
She says Honduras must embrace the principles of democracy and respect constitutional order.
The president, Manuel Zelaya, was flown to Costa Rica after being taken into military custody at his house outside the Honduran capital.
He was detained shortly before voting was to begin on a constitutional referendum the president had insisted on holding.

She should visit Pelosi's House once in awhile...

“She says Honduras must embrace the principles of democracy and respect constitutional order.”
They are just preparing us for our future and the “constitutionality” that their action will have.
The list, ping
Didn’t 0 just say that we should not “meddle” in Iran’s affairs when the evil mullahs overthrew the results of an election? 0’s hypocrisy at work, again!
Well at least she has been spotted. Good to know the Secret Service is on the job.
[(She’s on top of it, so to speak...)]
Ahh, well then it’s bound to collapse.....
Just wait. Our elections are not far behind. Think ACORN and the rest of the bottom dwellers.
What’ll we do...and what should our military do...when we know beyond any doubt that the left wingers have stolen another election?
The lower courts, the congress and the supreme court ALL rules against him.
The Honduras military is very professional and well regarded by the population. They are also SWORN to uphold the Constitution and people in the Honduras Armed Forces are NOT allowed to vote.
What Obama and Clinton don't like is the eerie parallels to the USA...!

The Hondurans did embrace the principles of democracy and respect constitutional order. It was the President who wanted to referendum to do away with parts of the Constitution so the Congress and Supreme Court along with the military took him out. Exactly what should have happened to her husband when he lied under oath.
She is blowing smoke and really dumb to come out with this after what happened.
Since the Honduran SUPREME COURT directed this action be taken, WOULDN’T THAT MAKE THIS ACTION “CONSTITUTIONAL”? Afterall, the Supreme Court here in America has the final word on everything.
I think our current administration should take note of what happens when a president tries to exercise “extra-constitutional” powers - the peeps get upset. Did the Honduran president overstep his bounds by placing a referendum on a ballot - did he have the power to do so?
I just think its funny that we gat that point, but they don’t(or rather do and are setting precedent). Then again, they have no respect for our Constitution, why should they have respect for their’s?
I’m liking the sound of all of this.
Too bad it couldnt happen in America.
Go break your other elbow lil hillary.
Libs always stick together. :)

LOL
There should be a 'meddle' ping list...
I support the Honduran Impeachment!
“Since the Honduran SUPREME COURT directed this action be taken, WOULDNT THAT MAKE THIS ACTION CONSTITUTIONAL? “
Per an earlier thread. We’ve got two marxists that fear they see their future before them.
I must admit that i did like obama’s line about richard holbrook
being seen putting wd-40 on the steps outside her office. these
guys really know each other.
.
I’ll trade our Ginsberg & Co. Commie-tainted Supreme Court for the Honduras Supreme Court in a heartbeat
I can’t comment as I don’t know anything about their ‘supreme court’ down there.
Heh, your laugh gave me another one!
Hint: if Chavez, Obama and Hillary are NOT happy with this turn of events; then I AM. . .and I humbly offer; that ALL of us should be!
I think the Obama administration thought this was a cheap, easy opportunity to show how they are in favor of democracy, to make up for their dismal performance on Iran. Too bad, they didn’t read the Honduran Constitution before they started shooting from the hip.
(The Honduran President wanted to change the Constitution so that he could run again. He wanted a referendum to do that. But according to the Constitution, only the Legislature can agree to hold a referendum on the Constitution, and they wouldn’t support him. The Supreme Court supported the Legislature and said what the President wanted to do on his own was illegal. So the President had ballots printed up in Venezuela, had them brought back to Honduras, and ordered the military to distribute them. The military refused to do that so the President sacked the top military leaders. The Supreme Court then told the military to depose the President.)
Hillary Clinton is on top nothing.
The Supreme Court did not direct this action, the Congress did, after voting on it. I watched them vote live, on TV. It was very interesting. They were not a bunch of hot heads, it was a very serious, sober business and they debated the outcome first. The Supreme Court upheld what they did.
The Honduran legisaltors and the Honduran Judiciary saw it for what it was and asked the military to act...which they did.
The fact that Chavez and Castro are against it was signal enough...now that Obama and Hillary are also against it, that lines up most of the marxists in this hemisphere which says that what Honduras did is much more likely to be good for liberty and republican principle.

What the hell is she talking about?
The guy was trying to overthrow their Constitution!
Conservatives sweep in the recent European elections. Now this, a leftist despot arrested and exiled.
O’ to be king of the world -or NOT.
While I might not think it is a good idea for the judiciary to have such sweeping power (the US model of providing for impeachment proceedings makes more sense to me), it's not my place--or Obamarrhoid's--to second-guess the Honduran procedures. It appears to me that our own government is trying to render the Honduran constitution meaningless--much as they are trying to our own constitution.
I doubt that either she or the Oaf of the office knows where Honduras is. They wouldn’t go there in real life because it’s not cool to do so. And if it’s not cool, why of course it is nothing.
Everything else is well padded
I guess an article posted here earlier was incorrect. Sorry.
Thought you are probably 100% correct, that would not matter in the eyes of 0 and lil mrs. hillary.
They care only that Zelaya is a communist and they would protect him at all cost. Same would apply if he were a muslim.
That is the only reason they care.
Honduras is following the law of their land. 0 and Hill are disregarding their laws to protect their communist comrade.
We should respect their law and leader, but not their leader over their law, IMHO.
I think it is just a matter of phrasing. The Congress actually voted to remove him. The Supreme Court agreed that the Congress was within its rights. I don’t know who gave the order, but the order couldn’t have been given unless both the Congress and the Supreme Court agreed, and the actual document removing him originated in the Congress. But I think the most important thing here is that the military did its job but did not take over the government. They still have an elected government, a Congress, to which the military still answers. In Central and South America, that is a really significant development. It would have been unheard of 15 years ago. It is a sign of true democracy.
Yes, This man was rying to become a dictator, Hillary knows that, and we know that , but the people who voted for Obama dont know that so Hillary will tell them what she and Obama want them to hear.
Didnt someone in this country want to change our Constitution so Obama could stay??
Ignoring for the moment that Obummer, the Fascist, has already done terrible damage to our economy that will take 40 years by some estimates to repair, consider the
following:
Zelaya, the President of Honduras, was nothing more than a pimple on the backside of history. A minor player on the world scene.
Until today.
Today Zelaya could be the person who exposes for all to see what we have as president of the US.
Zelaya is nothing more than a very inept shadow of Chavez. But a little Chavez he is.
Obummer, the Fascist, defended Zelaya and has Hillary doing so with enthusiasm.
So Obummer, the Fascist, would defend Chavez were it Chavez on the plane to Costa Rica? Castro, were he on that plane?
All the while insulting everyone of any stature in England and pulling the rug out from under Israel.
His support of Zelaya should be rubbed in over and over and over until people get it.
I hope Rush and others will jump on this and never let go.
If ever the handwriting was on the wall.......
Well put.

I agree! I keep thinking that Clinton should have been removed but we could not even get all the GOP to vote yes on the two counts. He was impeached by the House — just not removed and now we have his wife saying they need to follow the Rule of Law in Honduras when her and Slick never followed the Rule of Law of he would have been OUT!
Hillary who?
Surprised Barry is even letting her make a comment on this...
bump
So I guess she supported Nixon's right to cover up the Watergate affair in 1974, regardless of what the Congress and Supreme Court thought. Right?
“She is blowing smoke and really dumb to come out with this after what happened.”
C’mon, she’s still disoriented after breaking her elbow while dodging incoming enemy fire on her way to brief the Chosen One’s briefs.
