Obama urges Americans get tested for HIV 33 mins ago
WASHINGTON (AFP) – President Barack Obama on Saturday urged his fellow Americans to get tested for HIV in an effort to reduce transmission of the virus that causes AIDS.
"On this 14th commemoration of National HIV Testing Day, I urge Americans to take control of their own health -- and protect those they love -- by getting tested for HIV and working to reduce HIV transmission," Obama said in a statement.
"While its impacts are not evenly spread -- infection rates are particularly high among gay and bisexual men, African Americans and Latinos -- when one of our fellow citizens becomes infected with HIV every nine-and-a-half minutes, the epidemic affects all Americans," he said.

Infection rates are largely confined to gay and bisexual men. Despite all the shock horrow warnings, HIV has not “leaked” into the heterosexual community in the west in any numbers. Proof once again that the so called sexual revolution wasnt all that revolutionary.
Then why should the gay and bisexual "lifestyles" be promoted as healthy and normal "alternatives" to school children? Why should marriage laws be extended to homosexuals?
Cigarettes, sugary drinks, and fast food are supposed to be bad because of their health effects, but this logic is never extended to homosexuality and promiscuity.

The only time you should be tested for HIV is when your spouse runs off to Argentina to have an affair. It would be a really good idea for Sanford’s ex to be checked! If one exercises morality and virtue one does not generally have to worry about AIDS (HIV now, wonder why that changed?) nor much of any other STD.
Back in 1982 when AIDS first came to the scene it was limited to “certain” populations. Not that those “certain” populations couldn’t make up their minds they have spread it to other “populations”.
AIDS used to stand for Another Infected D... Sucker because that is who had it.

Only in that the rest of us have to pay for it. The federal government is spending about 25 billion dollars per year on HIV/AIDS specific research and subsidized treatment.
Meanwhile, the involuntary diseases which normal people catch receive approximately diddly.
