Monica Conyers, the wife of the powerful chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., pleaded guilty to one count of bribery in a federal court in Detroit, this morning.
According to court documents, in late 2007, Mrs. Conyers, president pro tem of the Detroit City Council, twice accepted envelopes filled with cash, once in the parking lot of a Detroit McDonalds.
Mrs. Conyers faces up to 5 year in prison, three years supervised release and/or a $250,000 fine. Calls to an attorney for Mrs. Conyers were not immediately returned.
Jackson was working as a consultant for Synagro which won the $1.2 Billion contract to remove sludge from the city's water treatment plants. The contract was awarded in 2007.

In other news, how about Conyers! Granted she only ‘Pleads’ to one count (Out of hundreds I'm sure exist) that carries between 3-5 Years in the Pokey but this is a start. Now, let's dig into the Pension Board shenanigans. I'm sure that's good for another 5-10 years.
Of course this is all predicated upon the Authorities not bending over backwards to show ‘Leniency’ in light of her ridiculous marriage to the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. Now that is quite a joke isn't it?
And;
OMG! I just heard on TV that Conyers could:
1) Actually get off with no jail time and no fine and;
2) Could actually be RE-ELECTED to her Seat. Apparently the Ballots for the next Election (Aug) have already been printed and she will appear on it. To boot, the requirements to sit on the Council are that she be a US Citizen and a resident of Detroit - i.e., Nothing about any type of conviction, etc.
Would not not surprised if both 1 and 2 actually come to pass!
She should get 10 years hard labor.
Seems to me that John Conyers is in a good position to get rid of his wife if he so desires.
Keep her at arms length or “not with an 18 foot pole” length.

John Conyers might have know something. He should be investigated to see if he had known or helped in any way. He could even be charged with covering up evidence if he was involved and who knows probably was.

When I am in the Detroit area, I listen regularly to WCHB-AM 1200 which bills itself as "urban talk" radio. During the recent battle between the Detroit africanhyphenamericans and the racist suburbanites over the mismanaged and decrepit Cobo Hall, Moronica Conyers and her allies like Barbra Rose "MENSA" Collins were regularly & repeatedly lauded by the morning host Mildred Gaddis and her callers. My point being that your point is, IMO, very valid. The hatred for the white race, caucasians or Europeans as we are politely called, drips off very many in the city and trumps much else.
I can't help but think John Conyers has regretted his choice of wife for a long time. She is absolutely disgusting in so very many ways.
Detroit and Pontiac are but two of many Black dominated Cities that are complete cesspools of corruption and Racism. Yet the 90% Black Electorate of Detroit keeps electing their new Plantation Masters over and over again.
And when the 40% unemployment rate and High School graduation rate of less than 30% causes them to again riot over their deplorable state, they will burn each others homes down along with what little business there is that was willing to take the risk of serving their miserable a$$s.
The problem is not “Whitey”. They need to take a long look in the mirror.
Rep. Conyers and his wife should also both be charged with 1 count each of Improper Filing of Tax Returns, assuming they file joint. The money she took as a bribe should have been declared as income.
ANYONE who can make John Conyers look like a sympathetic character should be locked up forever.
The rat party invented the term for use against Republicans. It could effortlessly be thrown back in their faces.
