Among American Jews, a degree of ‘buyers’ remorse’ has been detected recently.
Almost 80 per cent of American Jews voted for Barack Obama as President. Those of us who warned that this man would endanger Israel were scorned.
How could that possibly be, said the secular, liberal American Jews. He’s a Democrat, he’s black and he’s pro-abortion. With this triple-lock of unassailable virtue, how can he be bad for Israel? Now some of them are getting an awful feeling that they may have made the biggest misjudgment of their lives.
As the world watched events unfold in Iran, Obama’s double standard over Israel was illuminated in flashing neon lights. How come he’s saying it is wrong for him to tell the Iranians what to do, people asked themselves, when he is dictating to Israel its policy on settlements?
Why was he so concerned not to antagonise the Iranian regime? Was it because he hopes to reach a Grand Bargain which would allow Iran to develop nuclear capability, provided it promises him ever so nicely it would never turn this into weapons — in exchange for which, Israel would be offered up on a plate?
For the past six months, while Obama has been holding out the hand of friendship to Iran, he has been showing Israel a mailed fist.
Why, people asked themselves, was he singling out Iran’s putative victim for the heavy treatment while soft-soaping Tehran? Why had he torn up the Road Map which requires the Palestinians to dismantle their infrastructure of terror before anything else can happen, telling Israel instead that its stubbornness over the settlements was the main impediment to a Palestinian state?

Jews are generally among the smartest people I've ever seen, but they seem to have a knack for self-destruction. How could they expect a moslem, like 0bama, to show any sympathy toward them or Israel?

I find the secular, liberal American Jews that helped to bring Obama into office to be despicable traitors to our country as well as Israel.
I stand in support of the folks in Israel. I can’t even imagine how tough it would be to live under the pressure these people do on a daily basis. I am proud to support those folks.

One look at his support for infanticide, and I think it's safe to say Obama's heart is 100% black.
1. Most don’t care. They are fully secular and have no meaningful connection to Israel.
2. Many more are like Nevile Chamberline. They care, but believe appeasement works. They are mistaken.

I’m not a Jew, but I support Israel.
However, after decades watching Jews support Democrats and liberals, I have to wonder, why should I care if they obviously don’t?
Frankly, a whole heckuva lot of problems in the world would disappear if Israel went away. Since the Jews in this country seem to be fine with that, sometimes I wonder if maybe I should just stay out of it all.

It may be because, if I take your post correctly, you were born in Israel that you have this perspective. Many American Jews did experience discrimination by mainstream nominal Christians during the past century that radicalized them into leftism and a "tribal" identification with the Democrat party -- a safer alternative than the Communist Party toward which a sizable number of the grandparents and great-grandparents of today's Jewish voters leaned.
I have seen a similar phenomenon with my neighbors who were born in Africa. They are worlds different in their attitudes than reflexively Democrat American-born blacks, in that they emigrated here for positive reasons and are now safe from the unrest in Africa; nor did they experience the extremes of Jim Crow as did still-living elders of the American black community.

I got it, Christians discriminated against the Jews who therefore identified themselves with a non-Christian political party — the democrats. Well said.
Unfortunately, I think Jewish devotion and loyalty is much stronger to liberalism and the Democrat Party than it is to their Faith and Israel.

In his pre-election contacts with Iran, he obviously promised to deny support to Israel and to turn a blind eye to Iranian nukes.
God knows what other promises he made around the world. He had major contacts with Syria, which speaks of some sort of promise of non-involvement in support of Israel to Hizbollah. He has has contact with the Palestinians, meaning Hamas. He contacted Chirac, who heads a European leftist think tank, these days. He had contact with Russia. I am sure pulling the European missile defense and promising to get rid of all our nukes were among the promises he made to Europe and Russia. I would not be surprised to learn that we will become dependent upon Russia for natural gas. He had extensive contacts with all the leftists in South America. That would be oil policy, immigration policy and foreign aid.
He isn’t betraying anyone except the Americans. He has made commitments to all the big dogs who play rough. Now, many of his naive promises are being met betrayal of zerO, himself.

I find it sad that more Christians are concerned about Israel than American Jews.

In Israel, there are plenty of secular zionists who just want a home.
My family fell into that category -— grandpa French doctor -— ended up in the desert with a machine gun after fleeing France.
That said, I was probably considered “reform” in Israel, but I attended a Chabad (Orthodox) shul in the USA -— as it is actually a serious place.
Soon as the economy comes back, I will sell out here, and go back. The one good thing about Zero is he finally convinced my wife even the USA is not a safe place for Jewish people.

My personal opinion. I’ve known few Jewish people, but from what I’ve read, though they are among the smartest people in the world, they are tribal in their thinking. They conform more to the idealistic communist way with a little democtratic thrown in. Their country (Isreal) has very high taxes, (socialistic) but they welcome everyone to come and visit, allow all old religions to exist in their land (democratic). The Jewish people I’ve known are kind and willing to share if there is a need. It confuses me that the American Jews, as a whole, would vote for the democrat party, which does not like the Jewish State. The Jews I’ve known are for business, yet vote for democrats, who are all for doing away with business. I’m confused.
Because of your self-destructive, moronic immorality in voting for Barry Soetoro, Israel is now going to be forced, in late October of this year, to unilaterally strike Iranian nuclear targets, causing military counter-strikes and/or radioactive material to be spread throughout the region.
This strike, made necessary by your blinkered, foolish support of an obvious Muslim in the presidential election, will result in hundreds of thousands of Iranians, and Israelis, dead.
And it is your fault, along with every other cog of evil who supported the monstrosity now squatting in the White House.
