Dems Refuse To Recognize Espada As President Pro Tem, Don't Stand For Pledge Of Allegiance During Special Session Republicans Fail To Take Podium, Pass Bills By Acclamation

Paterson called a special session. The Repubs, using 2 Dems, had taken over the Dem controlled state Senate and named their own leaders. Dems are taking them to court claiming it’s an illegal act. I didn’t bother reading why Paterson called the session. They’re all nuts so who cares.
In other words this is the US Senate lite.
I am not a NYer but here goes...
The Democrats controlled the senate 32 to 30, but then two rats switched sides and the GOP took control, but the Democrats ran out of the senate and refused to recognize the result. In the ensuing weeks, they enticed/threatened a turncoat rat to switch back, and it is now tied 31-31. Legally, the Republicans still control because the prior vote of 32 to 30 switching control still stands. However a quorum of 32 is needed to do business, and Democrats have refused to show up or participate for purposes of making a quorum.
They are hoping with enough chaos, some judge somewhere will invalidate the vote giving power to the Republicans.
Thanks. I gathered that somehow the Repubs were supposed to be in control and the Dims refused to recognize the control. Is it legal what the Repubs did? Switching parties happens all the time, and I can’t imagine how it could be illegal
Pistols at dawn. It’s the only honorable way.
As to legality, I don't know. I would think the majority picks leaders which was the point of the switch. These people need meds.
When will the folks in NY and Calif get tired of the mess they vote for and make a big change? I wonder if the ObamaBots realize this is where they are directing our America?
Gridlock in government is always best.
We have welfare cities that out vote the hicks. Blue cities, red countryside.
As it was designed to be.
As Jefferson said, “The government which governs least, is that which governs best.” He must have been thinking about that atrocity called NY State Government.
Chet 99 ya done good there boy.
Was thinking of making EXACTLY the same reply.
Yeah that’s the ticket.
New York City should declare independence.
We try. NYC and Erie County ( where I unfortunatly reside) are hopelessly blue. I’d love to cull NYC from the rest of the state, then we’d cancel out Buffablow.
They are politicians, they should use hand grenades to insure they don’t miss.
It is legal yes. One, possibly two, but not sure about the second, judge has thrown it out of court already telling them to settle it amongst themselves.
Kinda makes me wish the republicans in the house and senate in DC would grow a pair.
How is this different than any other day?
(The less they do, the less it costs me....!!)
