A piece of legislation is before the U.S. House that could drive up your electricity bill by 47 percent.
The proposed bill would put a cap on carbon dioxide emissions output for all electricity companies.
As part of a national effort alerting rate-payers, Grand Valley Power is sending a letter to their customers.
they know their customers are hurting in this economic climate, and urges them to speak up.

Well, it’s for the children....
(Do I need a sarc tag?)
Nuke plants don’t emit CO2 do they?
Algore and his comrades are about to make a killing off of the stupidity of the people living in this country!
carbon dioxide tax
I am sure the poorest Obama supporters are cheering this news
“We need single payer electricity” cries the DUmmies
ONLY those who make more than $250,000/yr are not going to see a tax CUT!
Do NOT...I repeat, DO NOT CALL the messiah a liar!
It may upset him...
Obambi won't raise your TAXES......
Doesn't matter. Liberals saw Jane Fonda in The China Syndrome and they are scared to death of "nukes". They know big business and weird nuclear engineers want to kill them and they don't care 'bout no stinkin' facts - they know what they feel.
Ya think that's not coming??? You'd better learn to appreciate and allot your usage to allow for that 8 hour daily window when your grid may or may not be online.
Ok I searched the link and the news article and can’t find the bill............what piece of legislation if you have it please ?
To many Americans are sitting idle on the train tracks.
When Cap N Trade and this other crap double power prices, of course they will clamor for it. Its what they do.
Give ‘em credit. They’ve managed to turn hot air in to money. And since the big boys are going to profit, it’s a done deal sooner or later.
Mark my words, the American People will show their displeasure in the next election by sending 98% of the incumbents back in to office.
And when the prices double, I see countless hearings on Capital Hill, drawing and quartering anybody related to the Energy Industry.
NOW THAT IS A GREAT LINE!!!! I love it! And I'm going to steal it! Thanks!
When I retired 20 years ago I had a nice little cushion.
Extra money that I banked, and we used for special trips and other things we needed. My income is fixed ,but we get Cola’s. Last years COLA was .01 % , Yes. you read that right.
My cushion has become less and less as gas and food prices go up. I planned well and my house is paid for, but the County raised my property taxes by 7% last year.
Now Obama has printed a Trillion dollars out of thin air and I am looking at inflation to eat my savings. The Cap and trade will double my electric bill, The practice of not drilling for American oil will drive up my fuel oil heating costs, and Obama’s health care bill will drive my insurance out of business and leave me with rationed care.
I try to be optimistic, but every day the democrats who are running things are sending us farther into the hole.
I feel lucky, many seniors who have even less cushion than I are already out looking for jobs.
How’s that change doing for me.? It aint hitting on much, I can tell you that.
Not to worry,
The dems will have those with,
help those without .
It’s called socialism.
Not to worry,

It’s not just energy prices. Since the guy who makes your loaf of bread, or your furniture, or anything else will have to pay more in manufacturing costs, guess what happens to those prices as well.
If you say it 998 more times its still a bad thing. =o)
And the Chinese are going to fund our health care after government manages it?
We are lost..
Cap & Trade is the auto self-destruct button for the Nation.
It must not pass.
And the first ones to complain will be the idiots who voted for Obama.
“Obama supports raising your UTILITY BILL 47%.”
The above should be made a commercial pronto.
Uh oh. we better ban water before its too late.

The chairman of a House panel overseeing climate change legislation said Monday that he hopes to have a bill ready to go to the House floor next week.
Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., who heads the Energy and Commerce Committee,

Legislation that would require greater use of renewable energy, make it easier to build power lines and allow oil and gas drilling near the Florida coastline advanced Wednesday in the Senate.
Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., voted against the bill, claiming it disregards America’s domestic energy resources.
The Energy and Natural Resources Committee approved the bill by a 15-8 bipartisan vote. But both Democrats and Republicans expressed concern about the bill and hoped to make major changes when it reaches the Senate floor, probably in the fall.
“The bill rejects nuclear power and virtually ignores the enormous potential in our American oil and gas reserves,” Barrasso said in a media release. “The bill also tramples the private property rights of landowners in Wyoming and across the country.”

Barak Obama got elected off the stupidity of the people living in this country!
Ercot - the Texas el;ectric grid manager says that cap and trade will add 35% or more to the electric bill. Since most people pay over $100 per month that is a considerable poke in the eye. Now when you add what the oil companies and refineries have to pay to stay in business and then the cost of transportation that should scare the crap out of the average family. Too bad the media won’t come close to that story ON A NATIONAL LEVEL.
Businesses will have to pass on this cap and trade tax to the customers.
Higher food, clothing...prices .
0 voters hurt the most
The Rats and enviro nazis are going to bankrupt our country and make us a third world nation over energy policies like this.
We have to invest in nuclear power, gas/oil reserves and forget the wind energy thing. They want to invest billions in wind and it only works when the wind blows plus no one wants it in their back yard, including the enviros.
All your wallet are belong to us.
‘O’
Sorry,
not the first goof, even in the in the last minute.
lol. I don’t it too seriously
lol?
What?
You take care
