Each year, as Father’s Day approaches, a local gun store and shooting range, with two convenient locations, runs half- and full-page ads urging Florida families to give Dad a gun for Father’s Day.
My guess is some of you have never realized, or even contemplated, what a perfect keepsake a gun would make for dear ol’ Dad: When you care enough to give the very best, why not make it an assault weapon?

This has got me to wanting a “Big Daddy Sale” in my neck of the woods. I won’t waste my time writing the author though. He just doesn’t get it.
Buy Dad Ammo on Father’s Day!!! (hint to sons)
Poor little girly man. I never did much care for wusses.
I mean, with all of the bed-wetting that he must have to clean up whenever he reads a newspaper...
Richard C. Crepeau is a Professor of History at the University of Central Florida.
My question is: how can someone profess to be an expert in history and rail against the private ownership of firearms? The history of the world is that of the individual struggling against tyranny. Guess this wanker has his head so far up his arse that he can’t see the real lessons of history.
The author appears to be some sort of inept, effete, urban pansy ... probably homosexual.

Absolutely. I recommend the 6.5 Grendel caliber, which is fine for small to medium game as well as two legged varmints. Sniping capability out to 1200 yards or so is a nice side benefit...
By coincidence I’m getting a gun for Father’s Day. I’m a bit disappointed though for a settling for a .357 magnum when I could be getting an “assault weapon” whatever that is. Oh well, there’s always next Father’s Day and my birthday is coming up next month.
Hey -- me too!
Wow, Mr. Crepeau, was going to South Carolina for the weekend, but maybe we’ll go right to Florida and buy some of that ammo they have in stock. Thanks for the heads up!

They want their gun back.
From my cold, dead tentacles ...
Good thing the writer doesn’t shoot. He missed the mark by a mile.
I think he meant to be sarcastic, but my read of it says he made a lot of good points, and I think he brought more business to Straight Shoot.
This is what Told my wife. I want ammo for my Garand. But at 24-43 dollars a box it is a bet I will get one box of twenty. LOL
I want ammo for my Garand.

His 1st choice? AK 74, Krinkov(SP?) w/folding stock.
When you care enough to give the very best, why not make it an assault weapon a PATROL RIFLE?
Ahh.. that's better..
