At one point four years ago, Bruce Wisan was a white knight.
Attorney General Mark Shurtleff picked the no-nonsense Salt Lake City accountant to wade into the United Effort Plan Trust, that spiderweb of communal property ownership and finances in Colorado City and Hildale. He would seize control from polygamist prophet-on-the-run Warren Jeffs, carve up the land and mete out justice for disaffected outcasts and faithful alike.
It all seemed relatively simple.
It's become anything but.
And now Wisan has sold the dairy cows.
This week, the attorney general and lawyers for the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints working on a settlement discovered Wisan's $360,000 fire sale of cow flesh in a footnote filed in court. Wisan's last-minute deal smells bad.

I hope they can reach a fair settlement.
Bump for FLDS justice

BTW, did Texas authorities ever catch who burned down the governor's mansion last summer?
By and large, these people put their lives, property, liberty and children into the hands of the FLDS.
Bad choice. You lose. You lose property, liberty and children.
Happens all the time, since time immemorial.
It appears that other than the FLDS elite, the rest were deluded worker bees with out much, if not negative, assets.
Lawyers, investigators are not free. I wouldn’t doubt that they would consume what little of economic worth an out in the middle of now where assembly of shacks would be worth. Buildings are not liquid. Build one where no one except no money crazy people want to go, and it will return zero on a cost of a hundred thousand in building expenses.
Anyways, these types of communal problems affected the Pilgrim Plantation with in a year of landing, did in the communes of Oneida and other Utopian communities of upper New York state in their day, and were from the same wellspring of you know who.
“Communism is just gussied up communialism”
Right from the get-go, my main point was and is that the FLDS deserve the same protections of the Constitution as all other Americans enjoy. Instead, the Constitution was trampled because the FLDS are not a very popular lot.
I will not forget the military-style raid (based on a false report) and the children herded up like sheet, dumped in a coliseum, ripped from their mother’s arms, and subjected to two months in strange far-away foster homes. In addition, several adult women were held against their will during that time.
Unconstitutional!!
BTW - This accountant is in big trouble with the law and might have to serve time for allegedly ordering illegal invasion of private homes of the FLDS. He seems to have had a personal agenda against the FLDS.
Well, there seams to be an economic/racket known as the FLDS. It, the FLDS, seams to ‘own’ some structures. Others seam to be deluded, legally, that these structures are now there’s. Long, 4-5 hundred years of case law, and common law, think otherwise.
Personally, I am not a fan of ignorance or stupidity.
“Personally, I am not a fan of ignorance or stupidity.”
I am a fan of the U.S. Constitution and the FLDS were deprived of their Constitutional rights.
Gov. Perry took a lot of heat for not speaking out against the trashing of the Constitution when it came to the FLDS. Yesterday (I think it was yesterday) he vetoed a bill that would have given TX CPS even more power to snatch children away from their parents - including subjecting the children to intrusive medical examinations without parental knowledge or consent. Anyway, looks like Gov. Perry has seen the light.

The anti FLDS accountant sold off cattle in violation of the negotiation agreement. I think he’s in a heap of trouble. I think they thought the hatred of the FLDS would trump justice and the Constitution but they were wrong.
NO You can not read, or are un truthful.
The FLDS Attorney, HE BELIVES.....
That does not make it so. That is an assertion.
I doubt it. Courts give their agents, in this case, the accountant, wide latitude.
