Rep. Roy Blunts path to the Republican nomination in Missouris Senate race got clearer last week, and it could become crystal-clear soon.
Former state Treasurer Sarah Steelman appears increasingly less likely to run against Blunt, and she acknowledged Monday that she is looking at a possible campaign for Blunts open House seat as an alternative.
Steelman said shortly after Sen. Kit Bonds (R-Mo.) retirement announcement in January that she was leaning toward entering the Senate race, and for a while, it was a foregone conclusion.
But after unleashing a string of Blunt criticisms and opening an exploratory committee in April, she has grown quieter and begun evaluating other options.

I’m not as surprised as others are, as Steelman was under pressure to clear the field, far more than in 2008. But Roy Blunt is not good material.
Blunt would be an improvement on Bond, but he’s not a “movement conservative”. The problem with Blunt is that he had very close ties with Bush & Ashcroft. I can see Carnahan’s attack ads now.
More seriously though, while I would vote for Roy Blunt (I'm from his district) I really would have preferred Steelman.
The problem with Blunt is less his voting record than the fact that he’s a dull, gray establishment man. He can’t run on any kind of change or reform platform.
So was Bond and look how long he stayed in.
Blunt’s a disaster. The worst Republican Whip in modern history. Spawn of Carnahan can start measuring for the drapes.
Oh geez, I wouldn’t go that far by any means.
I would. Epic fail incompetence. This guy should’ve retired from Congress out of shame.
If you keep voting for these scumbag repubs and dems were never going to get back to constitutional govt!
I cannot imagine how Blunt can win this seat. MO is more Democrat though it narrowly went for McPain.
With Blunt running, Missouri will be represented by TWO democrats...McCaskil and Carnahan. God help us if that happens.
Quit the heavy drinking or you'll look like this:
“It were the gin whot done ‘im in.”
Roy Blunt also has to deal with the baggage from his son as well.

Your reply makes absolutely 0 sense. This is not surprising since you think voting for the problem will solve the problem!By the way i dont drink dont smoke dont have tatoos dont have piercings dont take any medications whatsoever and dont have any freinds that look like you in your picture!
My response to badchad41:
I'm glad you don't smoke, don't have tattoos, don't have piercings and that you don't take any medications whatsoever. You also apparently have no testicles as you want to hide your comments by responding in email only.
The election system is the system we have to work with. I'm not prone to throwing my vote away on some fringe party, though it is certainly your right to do so, just as it is your right to look like this:
