WASHINGTON - Former President Bill Clinton has told an Arab-American audience of 1,000 people that the U.S. is no longer just a black-white country, nor a country that is dominated by Christians and a powerful Jewish minority
In a speech to the group on Saturday, Clinton said that given the growing numbers of Muslims, Hindus and other religious groups here, Americans should be mindful of the nation's changing demographics, which led to the election of Barack Obama as president.
Clinton said by 2050 the U.S. will no longer have a majority of people with European heritage and that in an interdependent world "this is a very positive thing."
Speaking in a hotel ballroom to the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee during its annual convention, Clinton also praised Obama's speech in Cairo, Egypt, that was focused on the Arab world.
Clinton told the audience that it's important that they push government leaders for a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He cited an experience in 1993 when he failed to persuade many Jewish-American and Arab-American business people to invest in the Palestinian areas because violence and bombings had deterred them.
"It just took one more bus bomb or one more rocket or one more incident and then people got scared of losing their money," he said.
As the U.S. continues to push for peace in the area, "I think it's really important to give the Palestinian people something to look forward to," Clinton said to loud applause.
Clinton, who wasn't paid for his speech, spoke in a wide-ranging 35-minute address that focused on people's identity in an interdependent world. He said the U.S. can't rely on its military might in global relations. "It has to begin by people accepting the fact that they can be proud of who they are without despising who someone else is," he said.

This sounds quite dubious, since those of Iberian heritage are, as I understand, due to make up an increasing proportion of the population.

It’s the Muslim demographic that is going to result in the *takeover* of the “West” by Islam. With the numbers that they are historically showing here — it’s *absolutely inevitable* that the U.S. is going to become *Muslim dominated* in a few short years — of a generation or so.
That’s not hyperbole but a *guarantee* that it’s going to happen...

Bubba made these comments in order to ingratiate himself with the Saudis so that they, the Saudis, pay him (1) big bucks for speaking fees in the Middle East and (2) big bucks to lobby for the Saudis at some point in the near future.

Those trends may appear correct today, but he’s forecasting out 40 years and no one knows what will happen over two generations. Those projections are based on what we know about the future, which is ... not much.
Maybe Euro-Americans will begin procreating beyond bare replacement levels again. Maybe some will migrate back to the Middle East or Asia, South or Central America. No one really knows how the world will be in 40 days much less years.

Where I work it is probably 5% white, 1% or less black, the rest is Indian and Pakistani and the cleaning crew at night is Hispanic. The only place I see my own kind is at the local gun show.
Demographic forecasting in the US has generally been accurate and the only errors have been an underestimation of population growth and more specifically the underestimation of the expansion of current minority groups.
Texas for example in now a “minority-majority” state meaning that blacks and Hispanics combined make up greater than 50% of the population. And while that fact has had little political impact this far, it is likely to have a great political impact in the next ten years when Texas becomes a Democratic state.
At that point in time, the Electoral College math gets very difficult for the GOP when going into a presidential election, they have to spot the Democrats; California, Texas, New York, Illinois and Florida before the first vote is cast.
That’s 168 Electoral College Votes for the Democrats before you begin to add in the other Blue States.

Yes, they conveniently forget that Spaniards - and Portuguese - are Europeans, and therefore, their descendants are of European heritage. Granted, some Latin American countries have large indigenous peoples populations or even mixed indigenous/African/European populations, but a lot of the people who emigrate to the US are of European descent.
