Obama transferred from Occidental College to Columbia University in 1981.
According to the New York Times, Obama "suggests in his book that his years in New York were a pivotal period: He ran three miles a day, buckled down to work and 'stopped getting high,' which he says he had started doing in high school.
Yet he declined repeated requests to talk about his New York years, release his Columbia transcript or identify even a single fellow student, co-worker, roommate or friend from those years."
Campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt told the newspaper in October 2007, "He doesn’t remember the names of a lot of people in his life."
Obama claimed to be a part of the Black Student Organization and anti-apartheid activities. But according to the New York Times, several well-known student leaders did not recall his involvement.
Fox News made contact with 400 of Obama's classmates. No one remembered him.
The Columbia University chapter in Obama's life remains blank, according to the New York Sun.
"The Obama campaign has refused to release his college transcript, despite an academic career that led him to Harvard Law School and, later, to a lecturing position at the University of Chicago," the Sun reported in September 2008.
"The shroud surrounding his experience at Columbia contrasts with that of other major party nominees since 2000, all whom have eventually released information about their college performance or seen it leaked to the public."
According to the New York Sun, a program from Columbia's 1983 commencement ceremony lists Obama as a graduate. University spokesman Brian Connolly confirmed that Obama graduated with a major in political science but without honors. Nonetheless, he was later admitted to Harvard Law School.

Barry talks in one of his books about his roommate at Occidental and then at Columbia. Refers to him as “Sadik”. By other accounts the guys name is Sohale Siddiqi. A Pakistani national who was a dope dealer at Occidental and at Columbia.
Bammy’s false bravado seems like that of the habitual pot-head (like Algore). Obama admits to heavy drug use throughout high school and college. Delusions of grandeur apparently control the druggie brain and Zero is no exception.

Good question. I’ve always had the feeling that obama is a fabricated candidate. I remember David Axelrod saying the Jimmy Smits character on West Wing was modeled after obama, but I think it was the other way around. I don’t see how someone can go through high school, college, and law school and be an activist, no less, and leave absolutely no trail.
I do recall reading that there were people were students with obama, but they didn’t want to make themselves public because they didn’t want the media attention. Sounded kind of stupid to me

No, we do not. THe only plausible explanation is that Obama was given a racisl preference or admitted to Harvard through political connections he does not want anyone to know about, or both. This was in the early 1980s, the heyday of racial preferences, when there were two piles of applications. I recall feloow students scrubbing their family history so that they claim some minority status — the lucky ones found it. Obama;s admission to Harvard has always been very suspicious, and no credible explanation was ever given. It is more palatable to conceal the information and dismiss suspicions as the ranting of wingnuts than release it and show how he got in.
Students who transferred colleges halfway through and gaduated with less than honors do not get admitted into Harvard Law School unless something or someone was tipping the scales. THis guy is President and he still has not been vetted — we really do not know hte first thing about him.. Amazing.

perhaps even jumping up and down with pride, “I was there when Obama was born” Not another mother, not a staff person etc. Does anyone know if anyone saw the new baby within a day or so of birth?

Barack Hussein Obama is a cipher in the mist, a ghost, a phantom. Nobody knows him, his childhood is shrouded in utter mystery, school records are vanished, and no birth certificate...yet he is POTUS. We live in crazy times.
Someone on the inside at Columbia created a record of attendance there. The school was a hotbed of radicalism is the 60s and 70s (Cloward and Piven were faculty members there), and still is today.
