Date:Tuesday, June 9, 2009
Time:10:30am - 12:30pm
Location:East Steps, State Capitol
City/Town:Albany, NY
Join the expected thousands of concerned citizens standing for the traditional definition of marriage.
Scheduled to attend are Sen. Rev. Ruben Diaz, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr. of the High Impact Leadership Coalition, State Conservative Party Chairman Michael Long, and many pro-family legislators.
All are welcome including children. It is important that we remind legislators that marriage is about the needs of children, and not just the preferences of adults.
Please feel free to bring your own signs with statements about marriage, but please remember to keep these signs honoring and respectful. ( No sticks will be permitted for safety reasons.)
The rally begins at 10:30 AM and lasts until 12:30 PM. Following the rally, NYCF guides will lead attendees to positions in the Capitol building. Some attendees will be participating in prayer rallies at each of the four corners of the Capitol or a press conference as well. The days activities should wrap up about 2:30 PM.
Your presence will let legislators know that there is tremendous support for the traditional definition of marriage.
That’s my 34th wedding anniversary. Perfect day for that. Wished I lived in Albany.
(Homo-radical simulation)
I’ll be there. What kind of a sign should I bring? Maybe I will bring the picture of Jesus that I always carry to pro life marches. Thanks for the heads up!
This is in Albany! I’ll be there.
Actually, I have to work on Tuesday. I will be praying for all that are there.
Never underestimate the power of prayer!
In early March 2007, a group of Catholics knelt and prayed the rosary just outside governor's office. Then Governor Spitzer was planning to introduce a gay marriage bill and the Catholics had convened at the state Capitol. The following week, news of Spitzer's involvement with a prostitute broke and he resigned from office. Keep those prayers coming!
My Assemblyman has been trying to convince fellow assemblymen (well it passed there already) and State Senators to do the right thing and vote FOR the same-sex marriage legislation for New York.
“Otherwise, I won’t invite you to my wedding.”
Such are the words of Assemblyman Daniel O’Donnell of the 69th Assembly District of the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
Mr. O’Donnell is the heterosexually challenged BROTHER of the ALSO heterosexually challenged TV and stage celebrity, Rosie O’Donnell!
His appeal sounds innocent and harmless enough.
But suppose 10 years from now, if the law HAS been passed and you work for Mr. O’Donnell or any gay person and when YOU are invited to their wedding, you respectfully DECLINE!
Will your job be in danger?
Will you be demonized as a hate-monger?
Will there be other reprecussions?
Make NO mistake about it. When same-sex marriage becomes law, those who don’t fall in line and make their feelings known WILL be harassed or persecuted.
Big Tax protest on June 16th called March on Albany.
Sign the petition to oust Sheldon Silver as speaker.
