More than one in five of all children in the United States are Hispanic – a significant jump from 29 years ago when only about 9 percent of children were Latino, according to a Pew Hispanic report released today.

The study, called "Latino Children: A majority are U.S.-Born offspring of Immigrants," states that more than half of the nation's 16 million Latino children are now "second generation," which means they are the U.S.-born children of at least one foreign-born parent. In California the number of second generation Latino children is 62 percent.

But, how many of those children are in a two married parent household?

How many are second generation daddy-less?

The Hispanic Challenge By Samuel P. Huntington: The persistent inflow of Hispanic immigrants threatens to divide the United States into two peoples, two cultures, and two languages. Unlike past immigrant groups, Mexicans and other Latinos have not assimilated into mainstream U.S. culture, forming instead their own political and linguistic enclaves—from Los Angeles to Miami—and rejecting the Anglo-Protestant values that built the American dream. The United States ignores this challenge at its peril.

That is....unless we remove all repeat, ALL the illegal aliens from this country, then seal the border so that only those entering this country legally are able to.

I agree 100%, but it's never going to happen with that many children being born here. The American voter will soften under the relentless assault of Democrats and the MSM (the same entity, I know). There will be amnesty.

“The second-generation Latino children are more likely to live in poverty and are less likely than third or higher generation children to be fluent in English and to have parents who completed high school”.

...that’s the problem! We continue to dillute English as our national language. Few come here with the will to assimilate or to learn the history of the country in which they adopted.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Hispanics made up nearly half of the more than 1 million people who became U.S. citizens last year, according to a Hispanic advocacy group. The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials said the number of Latinos who became Americans in fiscal year 2008 more than doubled over the previous year, to 461,317. That’s nearly half of the record 1,046,539 new citizens overall in 2008, a 58 percent increase from 2007. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gQKI-mUtzRTYIm7MjslLxEoz2zVgD97DFPI01

Study: Illegal Immigrants Having More Kids In US Associated Press ^ | April 14, 2009
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/money/19175382/detail.html

Growing numbers of children of illegal immigrants are being born in this country, and they are nearly twice as likely to live in poverty than those with American-born parents...

Overall, illegal immigrants’ children account for one of every 15 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. In 2008, California had the most illegal immigrants at 2.7 million, double its 1990 number, followed by Texas, Florida, New York and New Jersey.

“In the next eight years, the violent collection of criminal drug cartels could overwhelm the state and establish de facto control over broad regions of northern Mexico,” McCaffrey’s report said. “A failure by the Mexican political system to curtail lawlessness and violence could result in a surge of millions of refugees crossing the U.S. border.”

Correct—this is our country and our culture. Australia had the right message for their own militant “immigrants”, i.e., “this is our country, either assimilate or get out”, not quite that brief but you get the idea.

“That is a horrifying number!”

Just because someone has a hispanic surname (or brown skin for that matter) does not automatically classify that individual as liberal, anti-american, pro-illegal immigration, nor necessarily strong identity with hispanic ethnicity.

All Americans with German surnames for example, do not necessarily speak German nor identify themselves as German (just because an ancestor had a German surname).

Because at the time they immigrated, or their ancestors immigrated,

there was an expectation of melting into our pot,

not making us comply with their culture and language.

“Not aborting their children by the millions, I see...”

Quite the contrary. ‘Hispanic’ women abort at twice the rate of white Americans.

snip]First, the good news. The abortion rate fell to its lowest level since 1974-—20/1,000 women of childbearing age (15-44). In 1980 there were 29 abortions per thousand women,....Consequently, by 2004, “there were 10.5 abortions per 1,000 white women ages 15 to 44, compared with 28 per 1,000 Hispanic women of that age

I tried to put my kids in public school back around 1984. My two children were one of only a few white kids in their classes. This was in Glendale, California. They spent between 33 and 50% of their days, reading while the teacher taught the other students English. At recess time the Latino kids would gang up and pick on the White kids. I yanked them out of there and paid to have them educated at a parochial school.

I tried to herald the problems of our nation being flooded by illegals ever since. And frankly, it was a very lonely task. Nobody but nobody wanted to listen. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had people from out of state tell me it was my racism that was the real problem.

Well, now it’s everyone’s problem. We’ll all have to deal with it, and when all is said and done, we can expect to have the leaders of La Raza, MALDEF, Mecha, and many other groups serving en La Casa Blanco and el Congress del Estadios Unido. And after they’ve nominated and affirmed enough people, our SCOTUS will be gone as well.

Because America will become North Mexico.

Hey, it's the Anglos fault for not having more children. I don't cry for people who have 0-2 kids and then wonder why their country is being taken over by others.

The future belongs to the fertile.

Thankfully, they are not muslim. I think it only becomes a problem when they come over illegally or in such large numbers where they have trouble assimilating.

“Said the same thing about the Irish.”

Yes, they were complained about, with good reason. They left a crime ridden, poverty stricken mess and brought it with them. The government finally figured out when to stop the flow. That’s what we haven’t figured out yet this time.

These socialist 3rd worlders want to change this country into just another Mexico with more handouts. I don’t understand how you can encourage a group of people who have vowed to take over this country. And they are well on their way, as evidenced by the most recent LaRaza Scotus nominee.
