Who Wrote Dreams and Why It Matters
The American Thinker ^ | 5/24/09 | Jack Cashill

Posted on 05/24/2009 6:42:56 PM PDT by Jack Bull

While waiting for America's publishers to find their nerve, I had put my research into the authorship of Barack Obama's 1995 memoir Dreams From My Father on the back shelf. But then I heard Chris Matthews.

The Hardball host was weighing in on the subject of Sarah Palin's new book deal. "Sarah Palin - now don't laugh - is writing a book," sneered Matthews. "Not just reading a book, writing a book."

"Actually in the word of the publisher she's "collaborating" on a book," Matthews continued. "What an embarrassment! It's one of these ‘I told you,' books that jocks do. You know she's already declared, I mean, why they do it like this? ‘She can't write, we got a collaborator for her.'"

I dedicate what follows to Matthews and those willfully blind souls like him. It is a work in progress, a collective one at that, aided and abetted by nearly a score of volunteer co-conspirators from Hawaii to Ohio to Israel to Australia. The thesis is simple enough: Barack Obama needed substantial help to write his 1995 memoir, Dreams From My Father. Moreover, unlike Sarah Palin, Obama chose to conceal the identity of his collaborator and not without good reason. To admit that he needed a collaborator would have undercut his campaign for president and to reveal the name of that collaborator would have ended it...

The biggest story never told. Where is Fox News and The Washington Times? Where is a major book publisher? This is first rate investigative journalism on a topic of world-wide interest. The work Cashill has done is impressive and never reaches. A must read.

Maybe World magazine should investigate it. The collaborator for Sarah Palin’s new book is one of the lead feature editors of World, which is in my opinion the best newsmagazine around these days

BOOKS: WORLD’s Lynn Vincent teams up with Sarah Palin on a book that promises to set the record straight about the Alaska governor’s personal and political life | Mickey McLean

After last week’s announcement that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin would pen a memoir to set the record straight about her personal and political life, HarperCollins revealed Thursday that WORLD Magazine Features Editor Lynn Vincent has been signed on as Palin’s collaborator.

The book, not yet titled, will be co-published by HarperCollins imprint Harper and HarperCollins-owned Zondervan and is scheduled for release in the spring of 2010.

During her 10 years as a senior writer and features editor for WORLD, Vincent has covered politics, culture, and hot-button social issues such as abortion for the biweekly news magazine. She has also specialized in narrative journalism.

IMO Bill Ayres was 0’s ghostwriter. But I heard him say that any suggestion to that effect is “a lie” Thus, it couldn’t possibly be true!/s;)

There have been articles about this before. There is a good bit of evidence to suggest that Bill Ayers wrote for Obama.

You can always find liberal books at the dollar stores because even liberals don’t want to (or can’t) read them. The last time I went to the the Dollar Tree store they had dozens of Al Franken’s book there. They only cost a dollar and still they don’t sell well. LOL.

Matthews would respect Palin more if she followed the Hillary plan:

Clinton has been criticized for not giving credit to a ghostwriter in connection with It Takes a Village. The majority of the book was reportedly written by ghostwriter Barbara Feinman. When the book was first announced in April 1995, The New York Times reported publisher Simon & Schuster as saying "The book will actually be written by Barbara Feinman, a journalism professor at Georgetown University in Washington. Ms. Feinman will conduct a series of interviews with Mrs. Clinton, who will help edit the resulting text."

Feinman spent seven months on the project and was paid $120,000 for her work. Feinman, however, was not mentioned anywhere in the book. Clinton's acknowledgment section began: "It takes a village to bring a book into the world, as everyone who has written one knows. Many people have helped me to complete this one, sometimes without even knowing it. They are so numerous that I will not even attempt to acknowledge them individually, for fear that I might leave one out." During her promotional tour for the book, Clinton said, "I actually wrote the book ... I had to write my own book because I want to stand by every word." Clinton stated that Feinman assisted in interviews and did some editorial drafting of "connecting paragraphs", while Clinton herself wrote the final manuscript in longhand.

Gee, sounds like it might have to be handled in a novel. Sometimes the truth is too hot to handle any other way.

The MSM should be strung up.... Sarah Palin could write a far more intelligent book than the Messiah. The MSM constantly told the masses that GWB was stupid. Never mind that he scored higher than Kerry on the SATs. Never mind that he graduated from the Harvard Business School and wasn't even a legacy. I would love to see Zero's transcripts from Occidental, Columbia and Harvard Law. Why do you suppose we haven't seen them? The MSM and the Liberal Elite Establishment is starting to wear thin on the American public. Time for Conservatives to take the initiative.

If it were anything even half-assed, the MSM would be touting it as the greatest thing since sliced bread. That gives one the idea how crappy his work must have been.

Not to mention that he was the Editor of the Harvard Law Review without ever having published anything. I read that while at Harvard, he was asked to do a book on race relations at Harvard. He, instead, put forth Dreams from My Father. Complete phony.

I know liberals will make fun of conservatives for any reason, or no reason, but have you ever heard a conservative say of a liberal “Believe it or not, he/she is writing a book?”

Oh, you don't get the joke?

The joke is that every Democratic presidential candidate is a genius, and every Republican presidential candidate is . . . well, you know, a bit slow . . .

Including the "amiable dunce" who wrote more than any other modern president, and whose writings have been edited into a book:

Reagan, In His Own Hand:
The Writings of Ronald Reagan that Reveal His Revolutionary Vision for America
And famously, of course, Dan Quayle. And of course we know that Al Gore was a genius and George W. Bush was a dolt - the former's flunking out of seminary and the latter's Harvard MBA to the contrary notwithstanding.

The trope, which Ann Coulter ridiculed in, I think it was Slander, is a staple of the propaganda campaign against any conservative.
