Rolling Thunder not expecting Obama greeting
By Jennifer Harper
Friday, May 22, 2009
The last time Rolling Thunder roared into Washington, the president welcomed the riders in the White House driveway with a smile on his face and heartfelt personal greeting. This year, maybe not.
"We initially got a call this year saying the president wasn't going to greet us," said Artie Muller, founder of the group that is marking its 22nd annual patriotic motorcycle ride through Washington to draw attention to policy issues influencing veterans, active-duty military, prisoners of war and those still missing in action.
But a second call in recent days revealed that the White House would do something.
"We expect it will be a member of the staff, not a meeting with President Obama. We really won't know until sometime on Friday afternoon.
But this is a step in the right direction," said #Nancy Regg, a spokeswoman for the group, which has 88 chapters across the country and expects to draw as many as a half-million bikers for a "Freedom Ride" on Sunday from the Pentagon to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

This last election was a no win for sure.
This is not Swivel Heads’ type of crowd.
Carol Browner will greet the bikers and lecture them on pollution...
> “We initially got a call this year saying the president wasn’t going to greet us,”
Obviously. ....Obama hates the US military.
There’s no loss of love for McCain by many with Rolling Thunder.
>>We expect it will be a member of the staff, not a meeting with President Obama.
They will find a white scullery maid to wave at the riders.
He won’t. He has the Garrison Keillor mindset. Remember when Garrison wrote up that column insulting the Rolling Thunder for distrupting his quiet day taking in a painting at a DC museum?
A little two cycle oil in the fuel and you could turn it into a blue day in DC.
Sure. A cardboard cutout of The First Thug. On the bright side, it has no choice but to listen, it won't have the bikers rounded up & executed for poisoning our dewwicate pwanet, and a cardboard cutout has a helluva lot more personality than The First Droid.
God Bless Rollig Thunder!
I love those guys!
Obama would dare send staff out to met a group of veterans like Rolling Thunder? What is he afraid of?
The last time they came into town, we had a president. This year there is no president, but only an imposter in chief.
Rolling Thunder...My bad.
“Swivel Head”....snort!
Obama is reminded of everything he is not. First on the list is they are Americans.
50 states demanding a view of his certified "natural born" birth certificate and a Supreme Court understanding this issue is not going to go away until it is resolved to the satisfaction of all parties who have thus far litigated and been rebuked for their efforts. Someone who spends nearly a million dollars to keep this document secret certainly presents an appearance of hiding something he doesn't want known.
AMEN! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS ROLLING THUNDER!!!
You know, that would be a brilliant PR move on the part of the Rolling Thunder organizers.
Put a cardboard cut-out of the Precedent on the WH driveway and have lots of bikers pose next to it with the WH in the background.
That picture would be worth a million, billion, trillion words of spin from the MSM and the Zero camp.
If Obama wants to make a good impression, he should stand out in the middle of the road with Geitner, Emanuel, and Hillary and wave as the bikes approach.
This would be a great way to heal America.
I remember seeing pictures of Pres. Bush greeting Rolling Thunder - shaking hands, patting them on the back, and making them welcome. The same with the disabled veterans bike ride: Pres. Bush walked into the group, greeting them and shaking hands and exchangng smiles, while the Zero greeted the same group by giving one of his pompous narcissistic teleprompter statements from a podium.
Joe Biden on his Big Wheel?
You don't really expect someone so "pure & perfect" to come into close proximity with us unwashed masses?
Truth is, The First Thug is actually terrified of real people; he can't relate to them. He literally cannot conceive of people who might actually love this country, who might actually fight to defend it, who prefer independence to government-sponsored nanny-ism. These are alien concepts to him.
He's also afraid that someone might yell at him. And his feewings are quite dainty, you know.
Why would RT want to greet this horrible man in the WH. I think Vets should do what they did to Clinton..at the memorial..remember when they all turned their backs to HIM.

He’s not “skeered” of real men, afterall, he’s got Michelle.
Zing! You nailed it!
bunch of damned extremists.
Veterans, motorcycle riders, conservatives, Christians. Call out the military to protect the district from this horde .
“What is he afraid of?”
-—He’s no doubt afraid of the thing being covered
(but he might be able to keep the cameras away)/
If this were covered like a million other Presidential
“news events”, Obama would be
shown reeking to high heaven with a fake half-smile,
body language speaking in tongues, and a barely-concealable lack of enthusiasm if not downright contempt
for the whole IDEA of this. So what he’d be afraid of is
being revealed to be what he is, and also afraid of his
inability to hide, for once, who he is.
