Obama 'Distracted' by Biden's 'Indiscipline,' Book Asserts
Fox News ^ | May 20, 2009 | Bill Sammon

Posted on 05/20/2009 9:16:45 PM PDT by re_tail20

President Obama is so "distracted by his vice president's indiscipline" that he has been forced to rebuke privately Vice President Joe Biden, according to a new book by Newsweek journalist Richard Wolffe, who interviewed Obama a dozen times.

"He can't keep his mouth shut," Wolffe quotes a "senior Obama aide" as saying of the gaffe-prone Biden in "Renegade: The Making of a President," set for release June 2.

As evidence, Wolffe reports that during the presidential transition period, Biden insulted Valerie Jarrett, one of Obama's closest friends and confidantes. Jarrett had been considered Obama's top choice to fill his vacated Senate seat in Illinois, but took herself out of the running just hours after Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich allegedly told a wiretapped conference call he would not heed any Obama recommendation without a payoff.

I’m a little dense tonight. When Biden tried to compliment Jarrett by saying that she should be in the Senate, why was he warned off by Obama?

Unfortunately the answer appears to be... NEVER!!!

God help the United States of America overcome this incompetent CEO.

Ah, but that's the beautiful part. Biden has been duly elected to a constitutional office -- and can only be removed if impeached by the House and convicted by the Senate. Since stupidity is neither a high crime nor a misdemeanor, Ole Joe has four years to say whatever the hell he wants. He's life insurance for Dear Leader.

He just isn’t Presidential material. He never will be. Biden may appear to be a buffoon; but he has been around a lot longer than Obama has and one never really knows what goes on behind the scenes.

I don’t know about a “major gaffe removal” but I do see a push to remove Pelosi with tacit consent of Obama — bet she is NOT re-elected by the membership next fall.

With her removal— line of succession may be in place for Biden’s removal/resignation, maybe for personal reasons.

The article highlights some of the Zero's more terrifying ideas. Like this one:

If I had a Muslim summit, I think that I can speak credibly to them about the fact that I respect their culture," Obama said, "that I understand their religion, that I have lived in a Muslim country, and as a consequence I know it is possible to reconcile Islam with modernity and respect for human rights and a rejection of violence. And I think I can speak with added credibility."

If the Zero seriously thinks he can "reconcile Islam with modernity and respect for human rights" when they treat women, Christians, Jews, and all other "infidels" like dirt, he's seriously delusional. Or a compulsive liar.

I'd like to have a sit-down with the President:

"Solving our racial problems in this country will require concrete steps, significant investment," he said. "We have a lot of work to do to overcome the long legacy of slavery and Jim Crow. It can't be purchased on the cheap.

What kind of investment, Mr. President? An investment of time, of commitment, or is it just about money? Would the investment revolve around the renewal urban areas? If yes, how would address long-term sustainability, to wit, changing the culture to one of pride in the community that would manifest itself in caring for the results of this massive upfront investment? As you said, "it cannot be purchased on the cheap", which might well be interpreted as "money alone will not solve the problem; deeper cultural changes, almost down to its core - human nature - are required." These are real, sincere questions, Mr. President, and I'm very interested to hear your answers.

"I am fundamentally optimistic about our capacity to do that," he added. "And I do assert that there is a core decency in the American people and in white Americans that makes me hopeful about our ability to deal with these issues. But these issues aren't just solved by electing a black president."

That's very big of you, sir. Let me tell you, as a white American who was born AFTER the 1960's racial strife, I don't even have a dog in the fight. White people, black people, are equal to me. When I hear talk of racial division, I attribute it to someone else's fight in which I have no business, no right intruding myself. As a sophisticated and erudite man, I trust you do not believe the solution is as simplistic as "whites giving money to blacks", given it does not solve the deeper underlying issues of culture and individual character.

As a scholar, you will doubtless be aware of studies documenting the fortunes of lottery winners, and how a sudden influx of cash does nothing to their inner moral fabric. Nor does it translate to long-term happiness.

I'm serious, Mr. President. If you are reading this, I would relish a short bit of your time to discuss these very real and genuine issues.

Trivia question of the day: What is the most important thing the following people have in common?

Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Robert Byrd, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Timothy Geithner, Robert Gates, Eric Holder, Ken Salazar, Tom Vilsack, Gary Locke, Hilda Solis, Kathleen Sebelius, Shaun Donovan, Ray LaHood, Steven Chu, Arne Duncan, Eric Shinseki, Janet Napolitano

Answer: They are President Zero’s possible replacements, listed in their order of succession, as specified by the Presidential Succession Act of 1947.

Going down the ladder five rungs is enough to cause a sane person to quit thinking about it.

That's an interesting thought. He makes no sense as a VP for a two term President as he cannot possibly be elected President in a fair election. Even the Democrats don't like him very much.

Who do you think would replace him?

My suspicion is that as with ex-President Jimmy Carter, the Democrats know that Obama is going to be a single termer. Or perhaps they are hoping to hold on and pass the torch to some idiot moderate Republican.

Obama, who will travel to Egypt next month to give a major speech to the Muslim world, told Wolffe he wants to convene a “Muslim summit.”

“If I had a Muslim summit, I think that I can speak credibly to them about the fact that I respect their culture,” Obama said, “that I understand their religion, that I have lived in a Muslim country, and as a consequence I know it is possible to reconcile Islam with modernity and respect for human rights and a rejection of violence. “Who do you think would replace him?”

Rahm Emanuel for one, Andrew Cuomo for another. Not that I favor either one, but if Biden really screws up and gets thrown under the bus, Obama will have to find someone to quickly fill the job.

There are too many Democrats who realize right now what a liability Joe Biden is, and who really knows what he is going to say next?? He has no governor and his mouth runs on autopilot far too much. I can think of any number of ways Joe could talk his way right out of a job, and there are plenty of Democrats who would be relieved to see him go, and soon....

I was impressed when Senator McCain, given the choices he had, picked Governor Palin to run with him. When Senator Obama, right before that, and given the choices he had, picked Senator Biden...not so much. And almost nine months later, not much has changed. Governor Palin still looks like a good choice. Vice President Biden...still doesn't.

As things turned out, he committed treason by revealing the state secret of the Vice President's emergency bunker. So ... what happens now?

He gets sent to the Balkans and the main stream media ignores the implications of the story.

Major gaffe from me - I should have reread the thread before responding. Since you wrote that, he's committed treason. Revealing the location of the Vice President's emergency quarters is treason which shall be punished or so says the law.

Rush picked up on this, I hope someone runs with it.
