Noble gesture, but his term is expiring next year. By the time you get a special election, it will be too close to the regular election’s date. Let him be a lame duck.

The real problem isn’t what we do with Arnold, it’s finding a conservative to replace him. Beyond that it’s rolling back the politburo up there in Excremento (no offense to residents).

As much as I want to see Ahnald go, I have to ask to what end a recall election will take us at this juncture? The expense of such an election given his term expires in the not very distant future has to be a consideration. Also, who do we have (who will run for Gov) that would be a better choice and can garner enough votes to win?? We went from bad to worse here already with throwing out Davis for Ahnald. Do we go from worse to something far worse? Keep in mind that it’s not the office of Gov that is the problem here. It’s our state legislature (Senate and Assembly). Will we throw all of them out too? (That’s what we need to do, but I don’t see that happening in this liberal controlled state).

no, we need a recall, lets teach the arnold creep a lesson, and hope that lesson sticks to some in the legislature and even in washington.
if we dont recall them out, the only other salvation is violent overthrow, lets use recall, less blood.

So you’re going to cost the people of California even more money for a special election that’s only going to be a few months away from the scheduled election, just to teach a man who is probably laughing his way back into Hollywood(Might be the reason for his recent liberalness) a “lesson” ? Isn’t that the antithesis of being Conservative?

If he had 2 years left on his term, sure. But you’re costing California way more money and hurting the GOP brand in California by sending him away. Instead, the California GOP should be concentrating on running the most conservative Californian they can run in that state and ignore any recalls, because it will only hurt California and the CAGOP.

I would say...sending a message, loud and clear to the legislature that Enough Is Enough.

On the election thread I ran across this...

Even the taxpayers in Mass. are fed up!

I don't know...it's a start. We seem not to be able to (yet) do anything about 0'B, but dang it...let's start somewhere.

oh how true arnold is not here for long, however his recall would send a powerful message that we will not take it anymore. i dont care if it bankrupts the state, this recall election (like a that cost will matter) it is principle now, this SOB lied to us. he spent like crazy, there must be consiquences for this action.

what good will it do, well it might scare the crapola out of other so called leaders,a dn make them shape up. obama and congress might not be so bold if we kick there little dream boy arnold out on his big fat butt.

you got to hate that nazi if you know him enough.

” ‘and hurting the GOP brand in California’

Hahahahahahahahahahaha. Hohohohohohohohoho...hahahahahahahahaha OMG stop it.....you’re killing me......hahahahahahahahahhohohohohohoho... “

You might think that’s funny, but beyond the echo chamber of FR, this is what the average Californian will think:

GOP=wasteful spending+intolerance.

Right now, Arnold is wastefully spending and if the average Californian sees the CAGOP is wasting money trying to recall a moderate Republican (Remember, this is California and they think all Republicans are evil) they will think of us as not just evil, but hypocritical and it might have the reverse effect of having the populace sympathize with Arnold and his fight against the “hard right wing” of the GOP.

Letting Arnold fester will allow us to rally behind a candidate that can prove that he’s beyond politics as usual. If we try to recall him, there will be a backlash amongst Californians and Arnold’s nominee will have some of California’s support.

“No! We must send a message to them all in Sacramento.”

So what kind of message that you want to send to Stinkcramento? The message that the grass roots of the conservative movement whines too much?

oh how true arnold is not here for long, however his recall would send a powerful message that we will not take it anymore. i dont care if it bankrupts the state, this recall election (like a that cost will matter) it is principle now, this SOB lied to us. he spent like crazy, there must be consiquences for this action.

He’s a jackass, I agree, but the time it will take to recall Arnold, we’ll have to run a second campaign right after to try to keep our elected guy as governor right after we elect our elected guy.

“IF nothing less it’s a symbol of how mad you guys out there are..let the politicians sweat!”

A better symbol is to support somebody who is on the opposite side of the spectrum of Ahnold. Like I said, good idea, bad timing. The groundswell is there. Be patient and let’s spend our resources on trying to get a few good conservatives elected in 2010. We have few resources as is. This isn’t like 2002.

Personally, I don't think Arnold is the disaster, like the Congress of the US, it is the state legislators and mandated entitlements such as prison guards, state employee retirement, etc.

Besides, not be contrarian, Arnold is out of a job in a little over a year. This is very distracting from promoting our candidates that more closely match our ideals.

Tom McClintock would make a great Governer.

I support you in spirit.

I don’t think the “Law of the Sea” Treaty has been finalized yet.. so, why doesn’t California just drill all that oil going to waste off their coast? I’ll answer.. because that would upset the environmental commies who somehow have been given unbelievable power to control things like that.

While I agree with you to an extent, no governor in the history of California has deserved to be recalled more than this son of a bitch. It’s our opportunity to tar and feather this guy while he’s still on our dime, rather than let him ease out of office and claim to have been a good governor, during a hard time.

He has been a terrible governor. He has kept about two campaign promises. The trouble we’re in today is to large extent his doing, because he wouldn’t stand up to the Legislature.

Oh hell no, don’t let this jackass fade away claiming to be something he hasn’t been.

Fire him now!

Sign me up. I’ll help do whatever it takes.

Yes, that's a problem, but then we kicked Davis out. How bad can a replacement be for Ahnuld or Davis, since the CA legislature is liberal controlled? We can't be any worse off. BTW, I voted for McClintock to replace Davis.

What a delicious irony!
The Governator turning into a girlie-man and Out-Gray Davising Gray Davis!

At the beginning there it looked like he had the gonads to shape up the idiot legislature, but he gave up. I will leave the possible reason for that to the readers.
