Arab intellectuals, both Christian and Muslim, have accused President Hosni Mubarak's government of having conspired with the Islamist opposition the Muslim Brotherhood, which opposes rearing pigs "on Islamic land."

So maybe the "Muslim Brotherhood" should move.

The “Muslim Brotherhood” is kind of like “Al Qaeda’s Egypt Branch” (among other locations, the same group of terrorists that helped Obama’s cousin Odinga burn churches in Kenya, IIRC).

[Didn’t know if you knew or not, just thought that was important to point out... It wouldn’t surprise me at all if they were the ones really behind this. Watch for a law barring pigs being raised next, I’d guess... Unless that’s already passed — a law which would obviously only be effective upon Christians, and non-Muslims.]

In spring of '08 I'd take my really cute sun/jenday conure, namely: Sunday, on a daily walk to a Chilean Mesquite tree to show her a wild mommy birdie sitting on two eggs. The humane way to slaughter pigs is to cut the arteries in the throat letting them bleed out first. It is relatively painless and unconsciousness happens rapidly, followed by death. Cutting through the trachea, on the other hand, causes breathing difficulties and momentary panic to the animal. It is not a humane method of killing.

Muslims think that Jews descended from pigs, and vice versa, and they don’t need any special reason to kill either.

Unrelated from the pig aspect, your bringing up of the Copts reminded me of the brutal, bloody murder(s?) of the Copt family in NY.

Officially it was determined to be a robbery gone bad, but I always had my doubts as to that...
