I added the question mark to be on the safe side but there’s really no doubt about it. Josh Marshall, writing at TPM on Thursday:

More and more the timeline is raising the question of why, if the torture was to prevent terrorist attacks, it seemed to happen mainly during the period when we were looking for what was essentially political information to justify the invasion of Iraq.

And Dowd, today:

More and more the timeline is raising the question of why, if the torture was to prevent terrorist attacks, it seemed to happen mainly during the period when the Bush crowd was looking for what was essentially political information to justify the invasion of Iraq.

I predict the Times will jettison Maureen Dowd soon, not because the paper has any integrity, but because Dowd has become lazy and has outlived her usefulness.

Maureen Dowdy, plagiarist excellent along the lines of Vice-President Biden: There is nothing new among the Left: they are liars and the only coin they offer is deceit.

Dowd had an affair with Howell Raines, the previous editor of the Times. When A. M. Rosenthal told Raines that he should get rid of Dowd because she was an embarrassment to the organization, he fired Rosenthal instead.

Well, as far as I know, she hasn’t had an affair with Bill Keller. So her job likely isn’t as secure as it used to be.

As for Pinch, I believe he likes boys.

If Bush didn’t make the CIA lie to Pelosi, this plagiarism never would have happened.

REO Speedwagon
Take It on the Run

Heard it from a friend who
Heard it from a friend who
Heard it from another you been messin’ around
They say you got a boy friend
You’re out late every weekend
They’re talkin’ about you and it’s bringin’ me down

But I know the neighborhood
And talk is cheap when the story is good
And the tales grow taller on down the line
But I’m telling you, babe
That I don’t think it’s true, babe
And even if it is keep this in mind

{Refrain}
You take it on the run baby
If that’s the way you want it baby
Then I don’t want you around
I don’t believe it
Not for a minute
You’re under the gun so you take it on the run

You’re thinking up your white lies
You’re putting on your bedroom eyes
You say you’re coming home but you won’t say when
But I can feel it coming
If you leave tonight keep running
And you need never look back again

{Refrain twice}

Heard it from a friend who
Heard it from a friend who
Heard it from another you been messin’ around

I think the Times will survive (unfortunately), but I'm optimistic Dowd will be dumped.

How about the WSJ? She writes for them as well. Thoughts on them giving her a well deserved BOOT?

Mo Dowd died years ago. Jayson Blair has been writing stories under her name.

Dowd always liked to refer to the “Bush Crowd” instead of the “Gore Crowd” or the “Kerry Crowd” but thankfully there was more (voters) in the Bush Crowd!

She also loved to write about the “Bush World” when I saw she just loved her “Dowdy World.”

Wonder if she even bothered reading most of the stuff she’s plagarized over the years....

Dowd is a tout. And a couger. She long ago lost any genuine perspective on the world most people live in, and so has nothing to write about that is of any interest to anyone who lives in the phenomenal world.

I feel sorry for her. A person of wasted, caged intellect touting the smarmiest Dem politicians that America has ever seen in its history. And desperately trying to find a man who can remove her self imposed ideological misery.

Dowd is a tragic figure of what delusional politics can do to someone.
