Gay marriage isn't the real issue, as this article says. The real issue is that marriage is pretty much dead.

Punitive divorce laws, generous single mother welfare, and the culture at large have made traditional marriage an “odd” lifestyle.

When my bride and I were engaged, many of her coworkers told her to hold off “until you have a couple of kids, to be sure you like the guy.” Conventional wisdom in many circles is to hold off on marriage until after many years of living together and a few kids.

Until we change that, it won't matter if gay marriage is allowed.

I agree completely. For the last forty years or so we have seen an organized effort to DESTROY the institution of marriage. Homosexual marriage is simply the latest tactic.

Forty years ago if a woman moved next door to you with two children you would assume she was a widow. Thirty years ago you would assume she was divorced. Today you would wonder if she knew the father’s name.

My 17 year old very overweight neighbor, AAA, the daughter of a slut CCC who had 4 live in boy friends while auditioning a husband to mow the lawn, had a baby with no husband. The father is a scruffy looking kid who doesn’t meet the grandmothers image. For her, appearance is all that matters.

The grand mother CCC is shy of 40 and attended a stud auction where she found a letter carrier and married him. He has two kids including a teenage daughter BBB who is in trouble all the time and undoubtedly upset the apple cart of AAA who followed her mother’s example to get attention and destroyed her chance at life. As a mother out of school and confined to home with no job and no prospects she is in for a very hard life. BBB lived with them last summer and surely prefers living in her dad’s new house with the pool raather than with her destitute mother.

CCC’s older daughter DDD left home no doubt hit on by the various live in boy friends. She never comes around any more having undoubtedly become disgusted with the whole sordid mess.
