All of these social engineering types operate on a very flawed fundamental premise, that the ‘have nots’ are all like Bob Cratchit and Tiny Tim, and all the ‘haves’ are like Ebenezer Scrooge. That’s just not so.
Most of the ‘haves’ in this country are fair and compassionate people who worked hard to achieve what they have in life. They are most certainly not ‘Scrooges’, and they are not at fault for the plight of the have nots. The ‘have nots’ is a complex category, and includes some who have had very bad luck that was out of their control, and some who have no ambition other than to game the system. Any strategy to help the ‘have nots’ that doesn’t take into consideration this difference is not fair, and is not sustainable.
Further, the term ‘have nots’ is extremely relative. What does it mean to ‘not have’? Not have what? Are we talking about basic needs, or are we talking about things like a car, home ownership etc. Very complex issues that have been distilled by the left into a class warfare strategy. Irresponsible, and egregious.

So, if ending poverty (which capitalist America has already ended), what's the real purpose and goal of the Cloward-Piven's of this world?
My answer is Biblical and one of the Mortal Sins: covetousness. These people are filled with envy and guilt. They feel guilty about their own unearned wealth and at the same time are raging with envy against gas station owners, who have more than they do. Here they are, highly educated elitists at Princeton and some jerk makes a lot more money than they do. You can read 'Joe the Plumber' as an example of this envy. Their rage makes them want to tear everything down: "I'll show them. I'll show those 'tea-bagging rednecks'. They'll be sorry."
So, all the noise about poverty is total BS. They are so focused on poverty, that they will get even more of it. That's what we'll dealing with folks, rage-filled, envy-obsessed, self-haters and other hating elitists on a spree of destruction.
How's this all going to turn out? I think it was Bismarck who said, 'God protects drunks and the United States of America'.
We've been on the moderate speed train to this destination for decades. Obama and the Democrats today, are the logical conclusion of this process. It a way, it is good that Obama has put the pedal to the metal, because it clarifies the issue. No more slowly heating up the water to boil the frog, Obama's built a bonfire under the frog's pot. Will he jump out or not?
