His cancer-stricken wife Elizabeth kicked him out of their bedroom more than two years ago when he confessed to cheating on her, and the two are now living apart, sources say.

I loathe Elizabeth’s politics, but I shudder to think about what she’s been through: death of a child, cancer, small children to prepare for her death, and now the humiliation and betrayal by her scumbag husband.
I imagine The Breck Girl is playing hard at the role of being “really sorry” (.......sorry he got caught, that is......). No woman deserves a cheating louse while dying of cancer......

I think she found out on her book tour that there’s no sympathy for her victim status. She collaborated with him because she was horny for fame. Her husband was no longer any use to her. If she’s terminal, when is she supposed to die?
Why write a book and make excuses for her cheating husband, blaming the mistress? All Elizabeth knows about the affair is what the lying cheater told her. Tacky and tackier.

Yes, I feel sorry for the kids, too: their mother will soon be gone, and they’ll be raised by a greedy, self-magnifying narcissist.
Maybe fame and money is the only salve Elizabeth has left at this stage of her life. Maybe this is the only way she can get up in the morning. Who knows.
The fact that Elizabeth blames the mistress (to me) says she’s still holding on to the shreds of her shattered marriage. Very sad.

Maybe so but it didn't stop her from being on the campaign trail with him. Nary a word he had been banished from her bed. Very loving couple we were told.
That being said I do have great sympathy for her because of the cancer and her young children and will pray for them.
I can’t fathom having cancer and having your mate desert you just when you need them the most.
It’s got to be the most depressing time which is not good for a cancer patient.

I agree with you, she’s been through more than most of us will ever face. The death of her child alone is enough to ruin anyone’s life - it ruins many marriages.
Of course, I also abhor their politics and have NO idea why she wrote this book. The only thing I can think is it has something to do with her husband’s potential criminal liability - maybe she wants sympathy?

I really despise adultery for all the disappointment, fear and pain it causes to kids and betrayed spouses. But mainly I despise it for what it does to family, trust, comittment and love for generations into the future.
Although common these days, it is such a human tragedy. I guess that is why He made it one of the big ten ones.

I think The Enquirer must have been a Hillary supporter as they took Edwards out just before the Iowa causus, Edwards was ahead of Hillary at that point. By the end of January he was gone.

The Enquirer is a lot more accurate than the New York Times or the Boston Globe. They have to be to avoid libel suits.
here’s my theory.
Elizabeth went on oprah and wrote the book to gain sympathy for herself and anger and disgust at the “other woman”.
Now she kicks out her husband and if he ever had any future intentions of doing any kind of public service he CANNOT marry that mistress because she will forever and always be considered husband stealing trash. Shes political poison.
Elizabeth just ensured that the mistress will not ultimately get what she started out to acquire.
