I would love to see the day come when movie actors, rock musicians and professional athletes are regarded as ‘the rich’. I have a malevolent wish to see the likes of Bono and Whoopi taxed to their skivvies.
Bono has run his mouth to the point that I’d like to see his entire fortune confiscated and handed to Africa. He sure doesn’t mind tapping my pocket to ease his conscience.
When lefties get it, I think we should be supportive. This is the time when we drive home the point that freedom means being free from confiscation. Those funds wouldn’t be needed, if every feel good program wasn’t run up the flag pole, and saluted.
Rationality needs to become more the rule than the exception. Whoopi needs to be aware of that. This isn’t Republicans against Democrats.
It’s all citizens against massive big daddy government.
We keep it in check, and it’s stays off our back.

You’re right that “rationality needs to be more the rule than the exception.” In fact, that’s one of Rush’s main criticisms of liberals - they too often emote rather than think. As he often says, they don’t care about the unintended consequences - just that they feel good if they had good intentions.

Right - Heritage says that Obama and the Congress have us so many trillions of dollars in debt into the future that within a decade just the interest on it alone will be $840 billion per year! We can’t borrow our way out because even China doesn’t want our Treasury notes anymore. Taxes will increase drastically and galloping inflation will result from our printing money. Oh well, that’s the Obamanomics that the voters wanted. Too bad we all have to pay for their stupidity!

I’d be happy if such would be forced just to live and stay in a socialist state for several years and really experience the realities of it. Forgive my schadenfreud but it would be amusing if they became seriously ill and had to wait months for treatment and were denied it because of the inevitable rationing. And it would be great to see them desperately try to get to America for treatment. Even better to hear them curse Obama if his socialized health care plans are established here and the best medical care in the world had disappeared!
By the time Obama and his fellow socialists get done with us Whoopi might start thinking Zimbabwe is looking pretty good!

Taxes are not charitable giving and it isn’t the job of the federal government to take your money, launder it through their bureaucracies and redistribute it to their favored groups or causes.
Whoopi and society would be better off if the feds stayed out of it, Whoopi kept her hard earned money and donated personally to causes that she believes in.
That would be truly charitable and she’d have a vested interest in the success of the charities she chooses.
Exactly right. Liberals are only concerned with the REDISTRIBUTION of wealth and do everything thay can to punish and prevent the CREATION of wealth.

I find it kind of ironic. I’m sure she pays megabucks in income and property taxes. Yet the taxes she’s railing against are the nickle and dime taxes on her cell phone bill. What is that — 0.001% of her income? She probably picked that example so her audience could “relate”.

I think you’re right that she’d never vote for a Republican. Even before Obama, blacks voted +90 percent for Democrats. Now it’s probably something like 99 percent. But I think there’s always the possibility that if enough hard working, successful blacks see how they’re being PERSONALLY hurt and punished for their efforts even they might have second thoughts about liberalism. Maybe the answer is to run conservative black candidates like Steele or Thomas Sowell. There’s only one way to go with that voting bloc and that’s UP.
I think there ought to be a “Windfall Artist Tax” levied against overpaid Hollywood actors & directors to help pay for healthcare for the “poor and children” of starving artists. You would hear those scumbags screaming at the top of their lungs at that one.

I thought about that too. But you have to remember the combined IQ of “The View” panelists is probably somewhere around 90. Then, too, she may have enough sense to hire some good accountants and tax lawyers and pay very little income tax. Or - even better - she may be like half of Obama’s cabinet and staff and pay NO taxes! Who knows?

I do agree with your overall assessment. The libs don’t care if we can’t pay for something, as long as they think it’s something we have to do. The liberal’s ability to think rationally, just doesn’t exist.
That’s the way I see it too. Once our system, with it’s known imprefections, is destroy, it will be very tough to go back. Then what? Of course they haven’t thought that far yet.
