Chicago - busy putting on its best face to garner a 2016 Olympics bid and basking in the afterglow of President Obama's election - has become the nation's most violent city for youths.
With three weeks left before summer break, a record 36 Chicago Public Schools students have been killed this school year, marking the third straight year that youth homicides have climbed into double digits. Chicago has surpassed New York City and Los Angeles for having the highest youth homicide rate in the nation.
"I think people in Chicago have almost gotten numb to the statistics," said Dexter Voisin, a researcher at the University of Chicago who studies the impact of violence on adolescents.
The latest victim in Chicago's long year of student killings is 15-year-old Alex Arellano. On May 1, he was chased, beaten with baseball bats, run over by a car, shot and burned. His body was found days after he disappeared from his family's home on the city's South Side.
Police continue to investigate the killing; gang activity has been suggested. His grieving family members have denied any gang connections and continue to look for answers.

I also think that we need to bring back bounties and the “Wanted” posters like the old west. These thugs who commit these heinous crimes should not feel safe anywhere.
Unfortunately, they are protected by a perverted legal system and identity politics where the worst thug is a “victim”.
And we expect Obama to fix things in America? He cant even take care of things at home.

Don’t think of Chicago as a scum infested ghetto, think of it for what it is: A socialist democrat utopia! It’s all a matter of perspective.
I also live in a socialist democrat utopia. I have to laugh when I watch the liberal bedwetters run around trying to put out the brush fires they have created in their utopia. They won’t address the real cause of the problem which is their policies.
Let’s see, we will pay people to sit home on their asses and give them money for it. We’ll call it welfare. It will rob them of the dignity of work, but that’s OK.
It won’t be enough money for them to have the lavish lifestyle that they want so they will create a criminal enterprise sub-culture.
Then we’ll rail against ‘the rich’ and blame and shame them, along with pitting white against black. I especially like the ‘white schools are better than black schools’ mantra. Let’s breed hatred.
Here in my utopia, and others like it, brand new, state of the art schools were constructed. Nothing has changed. Well, I take that back, alot more ‘adminstrators’ and ‘specialits’ were brought in (all making a fat income) to solve the problems.
Let’s destroy the black family and religion while were at it, single mother homes are wonderful, and religion is antiquated and oppressive. Make sure we abolish these two evil words ‘family’ and ‘religion’ from our school system, the default new parent to our democrat offspring.
And anybody who disagrees with us we will use our accomplicices in public office and the press to destroy.

Well, I’d say that the Chicago school system is doing a bang-up job of preparing its students for life in a DEm-controlled world. Parents and taxpayers must be so proud, well, the ones that are still around anyway.
