A soldier injured in a rocket attack in Iraq finally completed the London Marathon today in 13 days, two hours and 50 minutes.
Major Phil Packer has been walking the course on crutches, two miles at a time, every day since the race started on April 26.
The 36-year-old was told he would not walk again after the blast in Basra last February.
But he has proved doctors wrong after working with staff at Headley Court, the MoDs rehabilitation centre in Surrey.

Crossing the finishing line in The Mall, Major Packer was greeted by well-wishers and awarded his medal by Olympics legend Sir Steve Redgrave.
Ive walked 52,400 steps and somebody has walked with me every step of the way, be it a dinner lady or a London taxi driver, said the Royal Military Police officer.

Damn. Good for this guy. Didn’t think the brits built any like this anymore.
I feel bad his country is tanking to the muzzies. Maybe he’ll come over here and help us while we still have a chance.
Good for him! What a fighting spirit.
