President Obama is a "cult leader" whose presidency transcends politics, former Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) claimed.
"He is — you have to admit — he is a cult leader. And the cult will go with him wherever he wants to go," Tancredo said on the conservative newsradio program "Dateline: Washington."
Tancredo made the remarks in respect to the way Obama has characterized his immigration priorities, which Tancredo alleges is a cover for a broader "amnesty" program.

Cults are usually structured around some sort of misguided spiritual beliefs. Where the foundation is political, it’s called facism.

Technically of course, you're correct. The devil in the details (so to speak) is that liberalism has become a religion unto itself. By embracing and espousing extreme secularist attitudes, many on the left have created a spiritual void in their own lives and have now have a *messiah* that embodies all their principles. I would not be at all surprised to learn that Obama's team has deliberately played this angle, knowing that these people have a spiritual hunger that needs to be sated (i.e. "the one we've been waiting for.")
Just as Christians view Christ as "the Word made flesh," Obama has risen to embody all of these idiots' collectivist hopes, beliefs, and worldview. He is more than their spokesman; he is liberalism made flesh, and their worship has all the fervor of a cult.
