SIERRA VISTA — Supporters of President Barack Obama during his general election campaign are invited to voice suggestions on how to support his policies as part of a “listening tour” event today.
Organizing for America, the continuation of the Obama campaign, has been conducting similar events across the country in and effort to hold a dialogue with supporters about issues both national and local.
“OFA is committed to building on and strengthening the historic grass-roots network created during the campaign and helping advance the President’s policy agenda,” spokeswoman Natalie Wyeth said in a release. “In recent weeks, the group organized a nationwide pledge drive and encouraged Americans to call their members of Congress to encourage support for President Obama’s budget.”
The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Cochise County Democratic Office in Sierra Vista, 1010 E. Fry Blvd.

Especially in this instance. To me, "listening tour," originated by Hillary, means "I'm going to go around pretending that the people are making me break my promise to serve out my term, although the Senate was always a stepping stone to higher office." A shorter definition would be "an easily seen-through demonstration intended to convey sincerity where none exists."
