Egypt has over 80 million people. About 24 people died from Bird Flu in 2 years. A negligible fraction of the population is affected, yet they kill 25 million birds because of bird flu. I guess you could argue that it must have worked, because only 24 people died. Personally, I have my doubts.
This whole swine flu thing is a manufactured crisis, intended to distract the public from other events which would alarm them if they were paying attention.
