I was told that Marvin is the only real conservative of the Bushes, and he has no political aspirations. The same was true of Edgar Eisenhower, who probably preferred Taft.

Jeb Bush and his Rino ilk are exactly why the GOP is in this mess. Hey Jeb, thanks but no thanks for your moron advice. Because of you and your kind, we’ve lost congress and the presidency.

Please do your “so called” Republican party a favor and go quietly into the night... the deep dark night and STAY THERE!

The difference between Obama and McCain is mainly window dressing.

Agreed. I've never had a candidate in a national election that I could vote for. I was too young to vote in 80 and 84. I've been stuck with a bunch of RINO senators, and the Representatives aren't a bit better.

I've always just voted against the other yahoo. It's a bit frustrating; I don't think I'm alone. The first national candidate that can articulately express a conservative viewpoint....and stick to it....will get a landslide victory, IMHO. Granted, my opinion is prejudiced, but I'm fairly certain there's a massive conservative constituency out there just looking for decent leadership.

I think the Dems know it too. Look how hard they're working to promote "moderates" (read: RINOs) like Romney and McCain, and tear down real conservatives like Palin.

This is telling, not to mention that Palin represents and therefore disrupts one of their favorite enclaves of power, er sheeple, er voters so well.

This is telling, ..yep. If Sarah Palin was truly "out of the mainstream" then she'd have been dismissed. Look at the real wackos like Ron Paul - who, I will agree has good ideas but is a complete nutjob.

Dems didn't spend 5 minutes on him, even though I'd bet 90% of the conservative base agreed with what he was saying. He wasn't ever a threat to get elected.

Dems actually attacked Palin's *children*, including her baby. I've not been around too long, but that's as low as I've seen any politician stoop, regardless of party.

“I’m fairly certain there’s a massive conservative constituency out there just looking for decent leadership”

I agree. I find when I talk to many people (including life long democrats)they would rather not have the government interfering so much in their lives or taking so much of their money. Slowly more people are realizing that the leaders of both the republican and democratic parties are bought and paid for by global corporations, banks, and financiers.

I’ve hit the point where I just can’t vote for the ‘lesser’ of two evils. It’s still voting for evil and it seems each time the ‘lesser’ evil gets worse. We just keep sidling to the left.

The problem I see is how does someone who will not bend to political correctness, and who has not been bought and paid get a chance to be elected and get play in the MSM. In the last presidential election, there were several interesting people in the republican primary who were either ignored or trashed. How do we get past that. Also how do we, or can we get past the PC brainwashing going on in schools.

yep. I don't subscribe to any tinfoil hat theories of some global puppetmaster pulling the strings...but I do firmly believe that a group of people with more or less the same standards and beliefs (ie, politicans) will behave more-or-less in the same way. For example, a typical pol thinks: "If "everyone else" is accepting massive amounts of funding from special interests....well, then, I'll do it too. No harm in it, right? And besides, I need to do it to stay even with the rest of the pack."

there were several interesting people in the republican primary who were either ignored or trashed. ...IMHO....ignored = not electable anyway (like Ron Paul). Trashed = scared the pants off the Dem establishment (like Sarah Palin).

ow do we, or can we get past the PC brainwashing going on in schools. ...I don't 100% subscribe to the theory of PC brainwashing in the schools. Anecdotally, I've heard the that current "rebellion" in school is to be conservative....lol, the next generation of kids are all going to be a bunch of Alex P. Keatons.

At my job, I'm watching the next group of "kids" come into I.T. - If I'm Generation X, I guess that they'd be loosely termed "generation Y". These kids are, in general, more conservative than my generation, more prone to disbelieve what they hear on TV and radio, and quicker to be well-informed. For instance, during the latest swine flu "thing", the guy in the cube next to me likely knew more about the flu, the geography of where the cases were located, and so on, than the pols and bureaucrats who were actually making decisions pertaining to it. He was just interested, and had easy access to a computer, and Google maps.

Contrast that with my generation, who catches the news at 10 or 11, and that's about it.

I think that, like it or not, Obama ran a pretty smart campaign - particularly at a grassroots level. The GOP, or some other conservative party, needs to take a page or two out of that playbook. The "Tea Parties", IMHO, are an excellent start.

.
Thanks. Interesting take on generations ‘X’, ‘Y’ and the current ‘rebellion’. It’s good to hear that the PC brainwashing is not 100%.

My generation (pre X & Y)seems to be mixed. Lots of liberals, but the IT and Techie people seem to be mainly conservative. Granted I’m biased (in IT also), but I’m prone to thinking being conservative goes along with the logic skills techies need.

“I think that, like it or not, Obama ran a pretty smart campaign - particularly at a grassroots level. “

Agreed. And great use of technology.

I belong to NumbersUSA(www.numbersusa.org/),
a group that works on immigration, amnesty, guest worker issues. They use technology to make it very easy for working people to maximize their impact on congress.

Thus far, they have been one of the main groups stopping amnesty, mainly by using the internet to alert members, providing free faxing, phone numbers for congress critters, and talking points when congress tries to sneak in amnesty or an increase in guest workers. You can modify their faxes, and when they beg for money they always say if you are unemployed or disabled ignore them.

I loved the Tea Parties. Saw pics of some incredibly creative signs. Hope the momentum does not die or the movement does not get co-opted. I gather ~ 1,000,000 attended country wide and the MSM gave minimal coverage.

What an idiot!

Let the sheeple go to the slaughter. they will eventually be begging for another Reagan!

The idea of becoming like them is completely insane and typical of why the GOP is dead, or has become dead. Perhaps Jebby should attend a Tea Party and see that Americans are quite ready for a different party all together. Especially NOT wanting to be more like the Collective Socialists who have taken power.

Send these Bush fools back to the Country Club they hide in!
