WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - A Purdue student group is claiming the Dean of Students Office is showing politically motivated, preferential treatment of some student organizations and their right to protest on campus.
The student members of the Conservative Coalition for American Values (CCAV) feel they were denied the right to protest a memorial display constructed by another student group, Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), but then the members of SJP were permitted to protest and disrupt a CCAV event the following day.
On Wednesday, April 8th, the members of Students for Justice in Palestine erected a memorial on the Engineering Mall consisting of 1,389 black flags to represent the deaths of people in the Gaza conflict. Around the display, they had signs that condemned Israel for the deaths. The event was part of SJPs mission to an end to Israels system of apartheid in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
...
CCAV members responded to these messages by carrying an American flag and holding signs around the memorial. CCAV signs reading Hamas blocked medical aid to Palestinian civilians and Hamas uses human shields were meant to counter what they believe are falsehoods about Israel propagated by a radical student group.
Both views of the conflict were represented until the Associate Dean of Students, according to a statement issued by the CCAV, told the Conservative Coalition that they were not allowed to hold signs because they were disturbing SJPs event.
I was shocked when I was told I couldnt express my beliefs when I was supporting my own country and our ally, Israel, against people who support Hamas, said CCAV Finance Director Michael Bagnoli. I walked away wondering why Students for Justice in Palestine gained favorable treatment from my school and if my rights had been violated.

The WH has clearly stated conservatives are terrorists so of course they don’t have rights.
Ah, my old alma mater. How low you have sunk...
This just boggles my mind. How can this be? Is the University afraid of this SPJ? Well, maybe so, the SPJ are certainly more likely to build a suicide/homicide bomb than the conservative group.
The problem is that its not just Purdue....it is the academic ‘intellectuals’ all over the USA. Modern Liberalism is destroying this nation.

And I notice you got as far South from those Indiana winters as I did - lol!!!
A university taking the side of the lunatic left? This is shocking and stunning! Ask UNC students about how the University allows campus guests to be treated if they are conservatives.
Spot on comment
I got away from those Illinois winters....a distinction without a difference!

Welcome to the USSA, comrade.
When attending Purdue we had this problem before, and with this administration in the White House we will see these problems worsen across the country.
The time has come for letter writing and phone calling to begin.
This is the only thing that will work. Cut off their donations.

Things have changed, it used to be some what conservative there. It has been a while. The rules don’t apply to them only to us. Some animals are more equal than other animals.
Screw the college administration, do want you want to. Threaten violence, that is what works today.
What a shame. My wife remembers seeing President Reagan when he visited campus. I also remember never having to deal with the few leftys that roamed the southern part of campus near Heav and the Union while wearing my ROTC uniform. Even at graduation and commissioning, some non-ROTC parents and students came by the Armory on that day. Rest assured I will let that first female Dean have a piece of my mind.
Now this doesn't happen such that the administrators notice it, but it does, and it's prohibited ~ and yet there was a shootout the other night in the Student Union parking lot ~ a 9MM against a .45 caliber.
No one was caught.
Even with far more Middle Eastern and other Moslem students around, the pro-Hamas crowd at IU hasn't much made the news over the years ~ and that may well be thanks to the raid made on the campus by the nutjobs in Danville, Illinois. One of them came down and shot up people going to church on Sunday mornings.
Like I said, the gun rules aren't often enforced on this campus ~ with good reason.
Purdue doesn't even provide trees and rocks to hide behind, and everybody's disarmed. That's why the Purdue dean finds it easy to allow his friends in Hamas to take over.
I'd like to say it's time for Purdue to arm up, mount up and take back their campus, or petition the state legislature to withdraw their charter.
Another conservative group needing permits to demonstrate! Good thing Adams, Washington, Jefferson, Madison and the rest were able to get those permits for the Revolution, huh?
