You’re confusing culture with individuals. There are nice people everywhere, just as there are evil people. There are cultures and beliefs that have spread brotherhood and joy in this world, and there are cultures and beliefs whose histories are one long expression of bloodshed.
The personalities of the individuals in those cultures and beliefs that cause pain and suffering on this Earth aren’t important. What’s important is what that culture and belief brings to humanity.
