WASHINGTON (AP) - Mich. Gov. Jennifer Granholm is among those possibly considered to replace Justice David Souter who is planning to retire after nearly two decades on the Supreme Court.
President Barack Obama's first pick for the high court is likely to be a liberal-leaning nominee, much like Souter.
The White House has been told that Souter will retire in June, when the court finishes its work for the summer, a source familiar with his plans said Thursday night. The retirement is likely to take effect only once a successor is confirmed.

God help us. Can she be named if she was born in Canada?

We won’t get rid of Mrs. Indecisive that easily. She’s not done “blowing away” the state of Michigan.

That would be insane. She's never been a judge and has never shown any experience in any sort of con law. Four years as attorney general and being Wayne County counsel does not prepare one for SCOTUS.
Granholm would be the Harriet Miers of the left.

Michigan is in the toilet. And Gov. Jennifer Granholm has not done anything to help the situation.
She is about what one expects from this assclown obamma lamma.

Rintense, she doesn’t need to be a natural-born citizen, a judge, or even a lawyer. She just needs to be confirmed by the Senate.

That doesn't appear to matter with anything anymore.
We have president who may or may not legally hold the office, senators being nominated for positions they're constitutionally ineligible to hold, and a secretary of state who holds an office of "iffy" constitutional legality.

From a democrat point of view Granholm would be ideal.
They won’t really lose a democrat governor because Gub’ner Jenni is term limited and is soon to go anyway.

Granholm would be the Harriet Miers of the left. Probably... except she'd breeze through confirmation on roller skates. Democrats are sycophants and sheep. Whatever the messiah says, goes.
That's going to be true no matter who he selects, up to and including Bernardine Dohrn.

To: rintense
Granholm kayaked in Lake Superior a few years back in a campaign stunt and she asked which side of the paddle was the left side and was disappointed that she didn’t see any penguins.
When sighting a Coast Guard vessel in the distance, Granholm queried her guide on whether the ship was carrying iron ore from Minnesota. When told “No” she said that’s good because she didn’t want it to sink like the Edmund Fitzgerald and the Titanic did in Lake Superior back in 1975. When told the Titanic didn’t sink in Lake Superior, she expressed surprise and asked if it’s still hauling iron ore from Minnesota.

Oh wow. That’s a dilemma. It will get her out of Michigan which she’s ruined. But it will give her a chance to do potentially more damage. I think Michigan is going to have to take one for the team and keep her here.

A few years as a community organizer and about 3 years as an unaccomplished senator got us our current POTUS. He never as much managed a lemonade stand.

I think you're right. Barry would love to appoint her. But with her scant legal career I don't *think* she'd even get out of the Senate Judiciary Committee for a floor vote
(1).
Plus, tThe RATS may be dumb but they ain't STOO-PID™. Even they couldn't take being 'controlled' by a SCOTUS justice whose nothing but a Chicago Political Hack.
an aside: What I'm waiting for is Morris Dees name to pop up as a possible nominee. That commie maggot would be perfect for Barry - their goals are the same - Destroy the USA as we know it.
(1) Arlen's jump actually helps Republicans America in that respect, the RATS need one 'R' vote on the Judiciary Committee to move someone out.

Rush is really stuck on Sotomayor as the pick. Maybe but if recent history has its say, we could see a
Sotomayor pick -> Sotomayor scandal -> Sotomayor withdrawl -> Jarret pick.
