The World Health Organization raised its pandemic alert for swine flu to level five Wednesday, one step short of a full pandemic. Already in the U.S. there are 91 confirmed cases. Close to home, there are ten probable cases in Delaware. There were four probable cases reported initially, then the number raised to six, then ten by Wednesday.

It is spread faster than an intentional event...unless there is more than one Typhoid Mary
sort of like it was on more than one plane that left an individual airport , or bus, or train
We will, of course, stop them and “IT” at the Potomac!
Uh oh. Thanks for posting, I think. Son visited girlfriend there last weekend, went back to Boston. |>.<|
Don’t forget, the reporting of cases has to lag the incubation period by around 7-10 days. Based upon the number of people being reported as “having it” right at this moment, there are probably 100X that number which are actually infected but not symptomatic at this time...
you mean it may have started the day Janet Napolitano announced that right wingers are the cause of our ills??
That would stand to reason, timeline wise... ‘Course, we’re entering “foily” territory there too :-)
I live in Dover. At least I do now, but I assume that in a week or so I’ll be as cold and dead as yesterday’s meat.
Bottom line is that:
A) The government knew what was going on in Mexico around as long as a month ago.
B) If they had an ounce of care for the citizenry they'd have locked down the border. They could still have let people through at the crossings with screening and continued commerce, but they should have gotten some political balls and sealed the "wide open spaces" with National Guard troops straight off the bat so we wouldn't have "random variables" wandering around in the border states without screening.
Right now, the politicians are probably crafting their excuses and ass-covering stories in case it actually does get out of hand. If it plays out like the last big pandemic, the spring outbreak will die down and smolder in low numbers through the summer and it will resurge in the fall/winter when people get back inside in close quarters...
Aw, don’t start worrying until you see the big tall black dude wearing sack cloth and yelling “MONSTERS ARE COMING!!!”
Well hello neighbor! Camden here.
My son is a student at UD, we got an automated message last night over the phone aboutthe 4 original cases. He commutes each day, I’m rather glad he’s not living in a dorm right now.
Maybe they could try and clean up the Amtrack station while your at it.

I think the MSM counts as the monster-Shouter.
