Well, now that Specter has finally gone to the socialist camp, could we send Collins, Snowe, McCain (both John & Meghan), and Crist over there as well???

Good. That's just another rino democrat that needs to be unseated at the next election. Admitting it makes him a more visible target.

If he would just take McCain, Snowe and Collins with him.

The only question is: will he actually get his thirty pieces of silver? Will the Dems keep their promise not to contest him in the primary?

I think that this pretty much confirms the idiocy and demise of the Republican party at the national level. Their refusal to consider the liberal political views of candidates when they decide who to support in a primary has come home to roost.
To: SouthernmostFreeper
Do you think it’s possible he’s doing this at the request of the GOP?

Specter boosted Obama’s ego even higher than it needs to be. Unfortunately, Obama’s grand plans need to come down a little closer to earth, but that’s not going to happen when he truly believes that a very strong majority of Americans support everything he does.

Let us not forget that Bush championed Specter in his last election. Should confirm how liberal the Bushes are. One needs to remind themselves about judging people by the company they keep. As much as Rumsfeld and Cheney look like practical, upright, upstanding Americans, they are in the Bush league working for a new world order. That is working for themselves on an international level and not for America
To: SouthernmostFreeper

As polarized as the parties are, how could anyone who actually belongs to one today join the other tomorrow? I could see going independent and maybe then the other side after a while but to make that kind of jump at once is obviously a selfish move just to try to stay in the Senate.
To: SouthernmostFreeper
The funny thing is, Specter is a dead man walking and will lose in the General no matter what letter is after his name.
The Dems know this. They’ll use him for the next year or so and then oust him in a primary.
