NEW YORK — Esti Lamonaca's illness started with a high fever, a cough and achy bones, just a couple of days after she returned from a spring break trip on the beach in Cancun with friends. By the weekend, her voice was hoarse and she was wearing a surgical mask.

The 18-year-old senior was one of a dozen students from several New York City high schools who traveled to Mexico earlier this month, and she thinks she has swine flu. Health officials have confirmed that eight students from her school have been infected with the strain, which has caused a deadly outbreak in Mexico. And they predict the number will grow once additional students, including Lamonaca, are tested.

Lay down with pigs, get up with swine flu! Didn't her mom tell her men are pigs?

Yep, and the spring breakers were warned not to go to Mexico, they laughted it all off, now look. My guess is most of the US cases are spring break related ...

School let out so they didn’t test the 100 students according to the article . They only tested a few students the article said. So the number count will become higher. I just read an article saying WHO says 40 now infected with the swine flu...

The Ap is saying a private school in South Carolina is closed for possible cases. Drudge has a link saying 17 possible cases in England.

First, she did not go "alone." Second, an 18 year old is not a "child" unless treated like a child. An 18 year old can vote, serve in the military, get married, drive a motor vehicle, own a firearm, sign a contract, take out a loan, and in most countries (except for in the Nanny States of America) consume alcoholic beverages.

It’s just a matter of time before Obama uses the “swine flu epidemic” to shut down the “Tea Party” events. This “crisis” will be used to restrict freedom of assembly. Never let a crisis go to waste.
