Why the two countries are experiencing the illness differently is puzzling public health experts, who say they frankly just dont know.

I can't imagine!

Thank you! I’ve been here as long as you, but I’m not really familiar with her back story. Probably because I had my nose so deep into the Threat Matrix threads around the time that Mother Abigail started. I am humbled by her knowledge.

Also a good excuse for socialized healthcare slipping through early... as well as keeping the eyes off UN treaties to give the soveignity we have left away, more TARP, investigations into TARP, Lewis BoA on the Paulson strongarming (as well as others). I’m sure everyone forgot that when Spitzers number 9 came up, he was investigating AIG, banks, etc.. Oh, and don’t look at the doc Cuomo put out collaborating Lewis or JJr. on tape stating he would pay 5 million and why Fitz hasn’t brought out the tapes, where’s Auntie Zeituni now, what happened to those 106 missing seal-on blank birth certificates in NYC, why are Chinese terrorists coming here, the stimulus isn’t working and the jobs aren’t coming, etc.

Wait a minute, why no story on TOTUS going to Walter Reed or with the private doc with the family, re: Museum Director in Mexico who died the day after he met Obama?

(I must have missed it)

If I must go to the FEMA camp, can it not be Room 22 (twilight zone reference), and can I get the Gitmo treatment? Nevermind, of course not.

Oh, and it aids the environazi depopulation. Obama can offset his 9000 lbs of jet fuel for the wind power trip and Gore’s plane ticket to the hill by knocking us off.

It will take a while for them to realize this country is blessed (well, we used to be)... so to take out the elderly and very young means taking out future taxpayers and workers for the motherland (Planned Parenthood will lose a few bucks, but they can’t kill them after they get out for a couple days)... but think of the social security, retirement, medical costs you’ll save, with a bonus of the state taking the property.

5 new flu deaths in Mexico, 2 confirmed swine flu

The Associated Press

Sunday, April 26, 2009

MEXICO CITY — Mexico City’s mayor says two more people have died of swine flu overnight in the capital, and three other deaths are suspected to have been caused by the new strain.

Marcelo Ebrard says 73 more people have been hospitalized with influenza and authorities are investigating how many of them may have been infected with swine flu.

City Health Secretary Armando Ahued says most of the fatal cases involve victims who sought medical help only after the disease was already well advanced.

He urged people Sunday to seek urgent care if they display symptoms associated with swine flu.

Health authorities have reported more than 1,300 likely sickened with the virus since April 13, and up to 81 dead.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP’s earlier story is below.

Public Health Emergency Declared for Swine Flu, Napolitano Says
Share | Email | Print | A A A

By Vincent Del Giudice

April 26 (Bloomberg) — A public health emergency has been declared in the U.S. to free up resources to deal with the swine flu, Janet Napolitano, secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, said at a White House briefing today.

No official travel advisories have been issued by the U.S. State Department in relation to the disease, Napolitano said. A follow-on flu outbreak is possible in several months, she said.

Nova Scotia confirms four cases of swine flu in province

THE CANADIAN PRESS

HALIFAX, N.S. - Health authorities in Nova Scotia are confirming four cases of swine flu in the province.

The province’s public health officer, Dr. Robert Strang, says the four infected people in the Windsor area are recovering from the illness.

All of them had what he describes as “mild” cases of the flu.

Sources say British Columbia has found a pair of cases but it is not yet clear if they have a link to Mexico.

Canadian officials are planning a briefing today in Ottawa on the swine flu situation, which the World Health Organization has declared to be a “public health emergency of international concern.”

Mexico’s health minister says the disease has killed up to 81 people and likely sickened more than 1,300 since April 13.

Asked why there were so many deaths in Mexico, and none so far among the U.S. cases, Cordova noted that the U.S. cases involved children - who haven't been among the fatal cases in Mexico, either.

Like AIDS, there can be no non-politically correct explanation.

There might be one...

Sample size

The seasonal flu tends to kill just a fraction of 1 percent of those infected. In Mexico, about 70 deaths out of roughly 1,000 cases represents a fatality rate of about 7 percent. The Spanish flu pandemic of 1918-19, which killed an estimated 50 million worldwide, had a fatality rate of about 2.5 percent.

The Mexican rate sounds terrifying. But its possible that far more than 1,000 people have been infected with the virus and that many had few if any symptoms, said Dr. Michael Osterholm, a prominent pandemic expert at the University of Minnesota. U.S. health officials echoed
him. In Mexico, they were looking for severe diseases and they found some.

“They may not have been looking as widely for the milder cases,” said Schuchat of the CDC.

I suspect the bug is widespread in Mexico and the sample size is actually quite large. Making the number more accurate.

I humbly suggest the quick term “Mexiflu.”

Good one! Whatever highlights the dip sh!t we are in with possible uncontrollable spreading due to open borders and illegal immigration.

Nasal swabs. Boy are those painful.

At the begining of April my husband and I came down with the flu here in SC. Neither of us had experienced such sickness. It was awful, we alternated between tylenol, advil and occassional aspirin to try to get the fevers down, for four days could only lower it to 100.

We were convinced we must have never “really” had the flu before if this was the flu. On what was his 3rd day and my first, we drug ourselves to a nearby clinic, they did a “flu swab”. The doc came back in the exam room a half hour later, really just opened the door (he wouldn’t step all the way in) and said you have the flu, go home.

He gave us a prescription but I don’t know what for, we drove to CVS to try to get it filled but they couldn’t do it right away and we could barely stay upright having been gone from home over two hours at that time so we just drove home without it.

Suffered with it for a total of 5-7 days and then went back to work. For the next two weeks we could barely talk, I’m still hoarse at the end of my third week. Got the clinic bill today and it just says flu type A or B.

All we know is it was the worst we’ve ever been sick.
