Fun in KC today. Headed north of where I live but we were able to watch the rotation and see it form today from the helicopter shots. Fortunately it wasn't a huge one. It was on the ground, off and on for about 45 minutes. Some video of scared motorists coming back from the ditch should be on the kmbc website tomorrow.

I LOVE tornadoes (except the whole people dying and losing their homes bit, obviously). I’d love to be a spotter/chaser.

Yeah, everybody said I was crazy to leave Kansas for CA earthquakes.

Strange seeing all of the cars still going down the highway toward the twister.

I have lived in Kansas for 22 years. During that time, I have seen 2 tornadoes: one in Nashville, TN and one in Stafford County, VA. Go figure.

I have also seen mile upon mile of hurricane and earthquake damage with entire cities destroyed. Tornadoes tend to take out one neighbor and leave the other untouched. Not good if you are the unlucky neighbor, but I think overall your chances are better with a tornado.
