Just read an AP report: the percentage of Americans that think the country is on the right track rose to 48% in March as compared to 40% in February. In light of the unemployment rising, the debacle in foreign affairs etc, I found it unlikely. So I looked into the details of the poll.
73% of the Democrats polled thought we were on the right track
17% of Independents
10% of Republicans
That made it even more suspicious as to how those numbers could result in a 48% overall right track vote.
So digging deeper, it turns out
36% of those polled were Democrats
18% Republican
26% Independent
18% None claimed
In the 2008 election the spread between Democrats and Republicans was 6.5 percentage points not 18 and independents made up 22% of the vote not 26%.
It appears that there have been similar distortions in the various polls measuring Obama's approval ratings.
I suspected as much. These people have no shame and unfortunately the vast majority will not even question it.
The AP is a credible source for political news? Who knew?
Great post....if wholly unsurprising. You should shoot this over to Hannity and O’Reilly at Fox News. Nicely done.
I can’t even remember the last time I believed any poll coming from the MSM.
Chomsky is right! Manufacturing consent! /s
It figured they fudged the numbers. Even the libtards I know are not happy with the Obama.
I’ll approve if he runs away to Kenya to live in a hut down by the river with his bro.
Great job! I still think the DemocRATs used voter fraud to make their polls look right in 2008. When we had ACORN voter fraud in OK, then it is pretty much everywhere. Even then they couldn’t get one county to go for ZERO!
Would love to know the number of LEGAL voters versus ILLEGAL that voted in 2008.
Exactly what Chris Matthews rattled off tonight as he marveled at the popularity of his tingle giver.
American Thinker and Canadian Free Press are outstanding.
The Dems are manipulating every poll with the exception of probably Rasmussen and at times Zogby gets some things right. The one AP oddly said O’s on if he is doing well is 17% for independents?
People on the street, unless they are totally clueless, know that something is very wrong. They are either unemployed or know one or a few people who are. I know people who have never been unemployed in their life who are out of work. It is a nightmare.
For people say well it was while Bush was in office - wrong. This is 2006 pelosi & Reid - NO Energy Policy (no drilling, no offshore, no nothing) which drove prices to $4.50, CRA/Fannie/Freddie setup fraud to wipe out the financial markets helped by soros AND total collapse of confidence starting in June 2008 when Hillary was out.
The smart money in the market had a fire alarm go off then. Business saw what was going to happen and people STOPPED spending based on the expectation O might win.
This NIGHTMARE is O and the Dems baby. It is ALL theirs.
Liars figger and figures lie.
“he marveled at the popularity of his tingle giver”

“CRA/Fannie/Freddie setup fraud to wipe out the financial markets helped by soros AND total collapse of confidence starting in “
You ever wonder if the Savings and Loan crisis, and the Clinton’s fingerprints in it, were a test run for today’s so called financial meltdown?
Have him quit being an America hating commie douche bag!
Maybe resign and go back to Kenya too.
In the broader sense, the game goes
1. Create a pointed poll.
2. Report the poll that you just created as if it is “breaking News!”
The result is a pro bono front page “Rah! Rah! America loves Obama” piece, created out of thin air.
And the media, scratching its head, wonders, Why does nobody believe us anymore?
In my best Jed Clampit voice...
We gave them scientific, mathematical “proof” that what we want to believe is “true”, is in fact “true”.
“Maybe resign and go back to Kenya too.”
bttt
“Independents” confuse me. I know plenty of conservatives who do not associate themselves with the Republicans, and plenty of liberals who don’t like to be called libs (usually they call themselves Progressive or some such). Would be curious to see how the numbers break inside the Independent column.
Great detective work. It is always remarkable what the media does to bring down Republicans and prop up Dems.
"Red" RON FOURNIER of the AP was a writer of the above. He has had bloody knees for years.
That’s his “vibra-tinglator”. It only works for people with a IQ of 75 of less.
Oddly enough, if we run the percentage results, but take into account actual partisan breakdown (instead of the AP tingly feeling up the leg), we arrive at a result of 38% who think the country is headed in the right direction. In other words, right on trend with the slow but steady downward motion of Obama’s polling.
And Freeper Poll Denial Syndrome returns early. After the polls were shown to be accurate in 2006 and 2008, why do so many here have a pathological inability to accept that, for now, Obama enjoys real support from an electorate that wants to give him a chance.
I don’t like it, but first we have to acknowledge reality, and then craft policy.
I chatted with my former PoliSci professor last week who despised Bush and said he has already lost almost all hope for Obama.
When they have to start manufacturing and manipulating polls, you have got to know, they know, they are in trouble.
This slide won’t stop. Obama and crowd are going down a road of self-destruction. Instead of hope and change, they are feeding their “hate bush” obsession.
Fools....Incompetents
I don’t doubt that’s true, but if he is a dedicated liberal, ultimately he will line up behind the dem candidate in 2012.
As a practical matter, I have said from the get-go that the only direction for Obama to go is down.
The scary part is, they can keep this up indefinitely...
I am SHOCKED, SHOCKED I tell you!!!
No sarc/ tag needed
don’t beat around the bush, what do you really think?
same here in FL
Where I am in the north east part of the state I saw stickers for us by 10 to 1 I then asked many people around the state and they were not going for bozo.
Anyway after the election they found that 100,000 votes came from just GA and OH. ,m yes they voted in our FL election
The GA media tracked some of these voters down and asked them why they voted, course there was the ACORN link, then the I didn’;t know to the I never did that even when their names were matched to their home state.
One woman from GA was tracked down and she had used a friends address in FL and so she voted in GA and FL
Then the votes came in from north east liberal NY and New England where they have the vacation homes.
Yep they voted here and back in their liberal hell holes.
Now add that to the illegals voting and miss counting in the 3 Dem counties in the south part of the state .
We’re looking at probably over half a million illegal votes
Now do not forget that every ballot question went conservative from stopping homos to having their sham marriage to stopping illegals have property passed on to them when someone dies.
Now add other states and I really bleieve that he never did win fairly and that includes the millions upon millions of dollars by the way of pre paid credit cards sent in by Soros, and his ilk and then from overseas by saudi(the bow) hamas , probably even chavez and castro etc
When will the GOP get some balls and look into all of this and ban those pre paid credit cards as we will only face them again in 4 years but this time he will have even double the money to spend
no the GOP will not do anything and then moan about their lack of money in 4 years when bozo wins again
correct everything was fine until the Dems got power and they were using fannie and freddie to destroy the economy
the media says why now why have the tea parties, well DUR because they have just started with this spending and bailouts
sad as it is and like someone on here said, the public will believe it instead of questioning the biased media
I bet that we all know of at least one person who voted for bozo by now regrets it or is questioning it
I know a few but still the media will try and make him look good
Unfortunately, ZERO HUSSEIN is a sponge who will NEVER do anything Honorable by AMERICAN STANDARDS!:-)
At least when our horses discharge, you know what you're looking at, and it's measurable.
I’ll let you know once I diceide. :-)
Every expert here claimed that Obama has no chance to win Pennsylvania or the overall election. I argued that the polls showed Obama winning quite handily, which means it would probably happen. Poll derangement was in such full blown style here that common sense was suspended. Then the shock: Obama blew McCain away in Pennsylvania, as polls had claimed all along. Sometimes things are the way they are.
Also, the recent Pew poll had the following partisan breakdown:
Republicans: 26.53%
Democrats: 33.49%
Independents: 39.97%
http://people-press.org/report/?pageid=1504
That breakdown is hardly upside-down quackery, yet the result is clearly not to our liking.
Gallup’s and Cook/RT’s polls come with very similar party breakdowns. We have to face the fact that our party is not very popular right now. Heck, even the tea parties were sure to blame the Republicans in charge almost as much as Democrats.
When the leaders of the Republican party speaking for us on a daily basis are highly unpopular figures Dick Cheney, Karl Rove and Newt Gingrich we should not be surprised that the other side is approved of MORE virtually by default. We need some fresh, energetic blood to show up on the weekend shows (Cantor, Palin, Jindal) and for Cheney and Rove, who are just way too unpopular, to fade away a bit.
There are always distortions in the polls. The people doing the polling want to make the Democrat position seem to be the more popular one.
“Obama enjoys real support from an electorate that wants to give him a chance.”
LOL!
Michael Barone on the Rasmussen polling
Given that this generic ballot question over the years has tended to understate Republicans performances in actual elections, one gathers that if the 2010 election for House seats were held today, Republicans would win or come close to winning a majority of seatswhich is to say, they would gain about 40 seats. By way of comparison, they gained 52 seats when they won their majority in 1994. This result may just be a momentary blip, which will pass away as quickly as it appeared, and we are a long, long, long way from the November 2010 elections. But if I were a Democratic member of Congress in even a marginally marginal district, I would be just a little bit worried.
Cue Baghdad Bob...
Tell me how oversampling Dems by 18 points is goin g to generate an accurate approval rating.
I’m glad you did that. At first glance, I was surprised at the total given those breakdowns. Your running the “not claimed” numbers explains the reason why.
This is an EVEN BIGGER item to broadcast about the “poll”
So 39% or so?
No one ever polls me, or I would give them an ear full. This Chicago thug the crazy Democrats and stupid Republicans elected is going to bankrupt this country. Then who will pay for the free health care these idiots think they will get?
