I don’t really disagree with you, hence my point about the police being present. If it’s a crime that warrants a personal search, then the police should be called. If not, then don’t do the search.
Zackly.
But that is alot of “child” to search.
Seriously. I mean, how many reasons do parents need to take their kids out?
So far, the only reason to leave them in is "it's free."
Another conservative who managed to find a "good" public school.
makes one wonder where all the bad ones are.
Maybe your kids. Mine aren't.
More accurately, I pay thousands of dollars in property taxes to pay for public schools and don't have any way to get it back to use it to pay for private school. I still have a couple of years before I face this but I'm not sure I can afford private school at this point and don't feel home schooling would be a good choice for us for a variety of reasons (though I know people who do it and fully support that as an option).

I suspect that most public schools are not unlike the one I attended many years ago, which had good teachers and bad teachers, good administrators and bad administrators. If you get the good ones, it's great. If you get the bad ones, it isn't. And that people can have both experiences in the same school.
In fact, this girl's experiences may have been wonderful at that school up until the day her life got intertwined with the wrong group of students and she wound up being strip searched. I also know that I got exposed to more bad things from people I knew in the neighborhood but didn't interact with in school than I picked up from the people I did know in school.
I see you put "it's free" in quotes.
You obviously know, it's not.
I pray that remains true for you and I pray for America on this all the time. But, as they move into the tween and teen years, you will not be with them at every moment. And certainly we'ld like to think that most will not be tempted.
A doctor I know daughter called from college and stated that she couldn't find a boyfriend who didn't smoke pot. It's sad.
