The Extraordinary Ordinary People Behind The Tea Party Movement.

Posted on 04/21/2009 1:25:51 PM PDT by Lloyd Marcus

The mainstream liberal media, ACORN activists and Obama Kool Aid drinkers have tried to trash the tea party movement. We've been called “racist tea bagging rednecks”. Critics say the tea parties are the result of marketing by the “vast right wing conspiracy”. Impossible. No marketing firm could inspire such passion in so many so quickly. Truth be known, this is an incredible grassroots movement driven by love and concern for our great country.

Here are a few of these Great American Patriots:

EDNA – Citrus County, Florida I've performed my “American Tea Party Anthem” at numerous big budget, thousands in attendance, tea parties around the country.

Edna in Inverness, Florida asked me to perform at her tea party. She borrowed a sound system which arrived 40 minutes before the rally. The need of a CD player for my accompaniment music got lost in communications. The sound guy was a volunteer rather than a sound tech. An appeal was made to the gathering crowd for a CD player. Three people came forward with CD players, none of which worked for various reasons, improper wires and etc. Someone offered a boom box. We held a mike in front of it. It sounded poorly.

Folks, in the entertainment business, this is known as, “The gig from hell!” I prayed, “Lord, I don't know what this is about, but I trust You.”

Before the arrival of the boom box, I lead the crowd, a cappella, in the singing of “God Bless America”. When I invited the vets on stage as I sang “God Bless The USA” it didn't matter that the accompaniment music did not sound good. Emotions, unity and sentiment was high. The crowd of a thousand cheered at the end.

Finally, we got a CD player and I performed my “American Tea Party Anthem”.

Edna is not a professional event planner. She is a patriot committed to serving her country. HER RALLY WAS GREAT!

HEATHER – Santa Barbara, CA The day before her rally, Heather's sound permit was canceled and her venue chickened out. Her committee had already flown me in from Florida to perform. Heather hung in there, got a permit and a new location. Over 1200 patriots attended her tea party.

GENE – Lakewood/ Bradenton, FL. Gene booked me to perform at his Florida tea party April 15th. The Tea Party Coalition thought it best for the movement that I perform at the Sacramento, CA tea party which would receive national coverage on Fox News and the Neil Cavuto show. Gene graciously agreed.

I would LOVE to hear your inspiring Tea Party Tales.

GREAT! But we need to focus our message — the conflation of “paying taxes” and “stop Socialism” seems to have overloaded the Leftist MSM’s processing abilities.

I’m neither ashamed nor credulous enough to believe the hype. The poll I just saw on the Fox ticker said that more than half of the country APPROVES of the tea parties, and more than half of THOSE respondents are Democrats, but also that something like 6% “strongly disapprove”...and I totally knee jerked, “I didn’t know that many people worked for CNN!”

Keep it UP folks, Independence Day is next!

This from my neck of the woods:

Tea Party Protesters Hit the Road

More than 5,000 people gathered on the lawn in front of the California Capitol this afternoon, chanting “No new taxes!” in a swelling, popular response to federal and state spending.

At least 100 people from Nevada County attended the “Tea party,” joining irate taxpayers from around the state. Other gatherings were held across the nation on the day federal and state income tax returns are due.

The protesters are both harking back to the iconic Boston Tea Party tax protest of 1773 and using the word as an acronym for “Taxed enough already.”

Mark Meckler, the Nevada County man who helped organize the rally, opened the noon event.

-excerpt- http://www.theunion.com/article/20090415/WEBUPDATE/904159997/1066&ParentProfile=1053

Weldon and Irene Travis, of Rough and Ready, Calif., lend support to fellow Nevada County residents attending the "tea party" protest in Sacramento. Rough and Ready briefly seceded from the Union in 1850 to protest a mining tax and proposed county prohibition on liquour. The town formally "rejoined" the union in time for the 1850 4th of July celebrations.

Isn't she a darling?:

Deedy Vaughan participates in a rally sponsored by West Virginia Concerned Citizens to protest government spending on the steps of the state Capitol in Charleston, W.Va., on Wednesday.
