Kenya Muslims fume at church move to convert Obama grandma

NAIROBI: A Protestant church in Kenya is trying to convert US President Barack Obama's step-grandmother to Christianity against her will, a Muslim group said Monday, condemning the move as provocation.

The Seventh Day Adventist church in the western town of Kisumu had invited 87-year-old Sarah Obama -- a Muslim -- to a function on Saturday, where she was allegedly to be baptised.

According to relatives in her village of Kogelo, "Mama Sarah", as she is popularly known in the US president's paternal homeland, was surprised by the offer and declined to attend.

"I regret the attempt by the Christian religion to force her to convert," Sheikh Mohamed Khalifa, the organising secretary of the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya, told AFP.

"Why only her? Why not before Obama became president? Didn't they see her before he became president? We are ready to protect our religion," he said.

Ah, as usual the Muslims are rushing forward to claim that Christians were “forcing” them to convert...I would seriously doubt this report. For one thing, I’ve never met Seventh Day Adventists who do things that way. Perhaps they invited her to a church meeting (although it sounds more like a secular meeting to be held at their church) but they certainly realize that people cannot be baptized against their will and they would never have “planned to baptize” this woman by luring her to a meeting. Ridiculous.

But the Muzzies claim things like this, it stirs up their base, and then hundreds of innocent Christians die when the herds of dumb, enraged Muslims take up their machetes and kerosene.

I am sure I read in an article sometime back that the reporter claimed she was Christian.

Yeah, they were going to for e her under the water. uh huh. They are stupid, we all know they are stupid. But they are more stupid than we imagined, since they don’t even know they are stupid and how stupid they look.

I see dumb people, they’re everywhere, they don’t even know they’re dumb.

"...the herds of dumb, enraged Muslims..."

What's it called when you merely use different words that mean the same thing, in a repetitious fashion?

Agreed--it seems these Muslims believe that all you need to do to become a Christian is to be baptised, which is the farthest thing from the truth!

Sounds like a set up against Christians in the area (and elsewhere around the world?) to me as well!

Yeah, I know, it’s redundant. When you’ve said “Muslim,” you’ve said it all...

Conversion by persuasion? That is an outrage!

Conversion by the sword? Hey, that’s A-OK by us!
