Unhealthy is a cryptic way of saying racist and leaving the actual label to the followers who always back these interviews up in the commentary. Axelrod knows there would be a firestorm if he said racist so he substitutes unhealthy.
This is a variation of a race hustle that the Obama flacks will use all along his career path.
