Obama aide takes dim view of anti-tax tea parties [David Axelrod on "Faze the Nation"]
The York Daily Record / The Associated Press ^ | April 19, 2009

Posted on 04/19/2009 12:57:34 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Damn the tea bags. A top adviser to President Barack Obama takes a dim view of last week's anti-tax "tea parties," promoted by organizers in the spirit of the Boston Tea Party.

"The thing that bewilders me is this president just cut taxes for 95 percent of the American people. So I think the tea bags should be directed elsewhere because he certainly understands the burden that people face," David Axelrod said Sunday.

--snip--

Axelrod replied: "I think any time that you have severe economic conditions, there is always an element of disaffection that can mutate into something that's unhealthy."

Did you know that you were just a Republican stooge? Did you realize that the Tea Parties were "unhealthy" according to this government? Are you enjoying your big tax cut?

Does anyone in the lamestream media realize obama didn’t cut taxes? All his people did was to adjust the tax table which means you will either pay more next April or get less.

Yeah, right. He let Bush's tax cuts expire - the $1,000 child tax credit drops to $500 under the "Obama Tax Cut" plan. Then he promises to raise the tiers and remove our charitable deductions. Most insulting, about 45% of those he gave "free money" to don't have to pay taxes. They are sustained by the other "productive" half of Americans.

To make matters worse, he's now permitted an Obama official designate the paying half of Americans as "potential terrorists".

I don't think Obama is clueless, I won't ask what part of SOCIALISM he doesn't get, he has implemented it just as he plan.

Tea anyone?

The thing that bewilders me is how you can lie so easily. Show me the 95% of Americans who have had their taxes cut. THEY DON'T EXIST. I guess Goebbels(?) was right - people will believe a big lie, before they believe little ones.

This “95%” meme needs to be stopped in its tracks. Are there any DC Republicans with balls left to dispute this BS?

To fund the out years after Obama’s one-time TARP funding and bailouts, every other tax will need to be raised - state income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes, meals taxes, county taxes, hotel taxes, school taxes, energy taxes, healthcare taxes, and utility taxes.

Nice try Axelturf.

I'm hearing from my left leaning, 0bama supporter, pro abortion sister alot of disgust at the MSM since the Tea Parties, especially that gal at CNN.

What she was seeing in the MSM didn't line up with what she was seeing/hearing from me (and my facebook friends, lol).

The Dems are going to lose a good portion of their supporters, if they keep up the lies about the Tea Parties, IMHO. They'll keep the kooks happy tho, so let 'em have at it.

Adjusted the with holding tables. The tax rate remains the same. You still owe the full frieght at the end of the year. SURPRISE!

Not to mention that 40 - 50% of the so-called 95% don’t pay taxes anyway. Can you say WELFARE? I knew you could.

Which leads us to another trick they’ve been using lately which is to use ‘median income’ to illustrate that we are the lowest taxed Americans ever. Few people below the median are paying taxes anyway so it’s meaningless.

I pay a full 20% of my income in federal taxes and another 10% state on top of that...Screw you Axlerod.

Liberty is singular. In the minds of the likes of Axelrod and Obama, liberties refer to government allowed actions, not to LIBERTY or FREEDOM.

Someone else said it before me, but it is as if the dog finally caught the car that he had been chasing for years...and now he doesn’t know what to do with it. Unfortunately for him, it was the car that brought his food and now he has disabled it. For a while, the food will hold out and he and tell his dog friends what a great feat he has accomplished and that the car has a powerful engine and great speed and it capable of amazing things and for a while the dogs will be able to remember it. However, the dog has really just wanted to bite the tires and pee on it to mark his territory and show that he was capable of bringing it down. What he didn’t realize that was that he would never be able to start it and drive it and go find the food source. So now he is left with a rusting hunk of metal, that is useless to him except as a toilet and he has marked it so many times that the novelty of that has worn out....and his friends long since lost interest in his feat of getting the car because he doesn’t know what to do with it now that he has caught it.

To start with they were not "anti-tax" tea parties. The left is trying to define them this way so they can point up the "Huge"(snicker)one time, and one time only, tax credit of $400.

The tea parties are anti-communist government, anti-spending, anti-trying to take over control of private industry, etc.

They can bitch and moan all they want, those were not the last tea parties they will see before this administration has run its course!

Funny isn't it? If you protested Bush you were patriotic, protest Bozo and you are a terrorist.

the $1,000 child tax credit drops to $500 under the "Obama Tax Cut" plan.
That can't be right. From the IRS website: "With the Child Tax Credit, you may be able to reduce the federal income tax you owe by up to $1,000 for each qualifying child under the age of 17."

Why are you here? STOP THE CRAP! There is no child tax credit according to Obama's own site!

From the Obama website:

Married Couple Making $75,000 with two children, one of whom is in college $3,700 [includes $1,000 Making Work Pay; $500 universal mortgage credit; and $4,000 college credit net of current college credits]

Married Couple making $90,000 $1,000

Single Parent making $40,000 with two young children and childcare expenses. $2,100 [includes $500 making work pay; $500 universal mortgage credit, and $1,100 from Obama expansion of the child care tax credit]

70-Year Old Widow Making $35,000 $1,900

If you go by what is lost with the Bush tax cuts expiring, the loss of charitable deductions and the $1,000 child tax credit being dropped back to $500...

THEN ADD THE MOVING OF TAXABLE INCOME LEVEL TIERS you have a massive tax increase hitting all EARNING Americans.

Look, stop posting to me already. I'm bypassing your responses going forward.

I’m taking a community college course taught by an woman who owns a technology business. She came in last week really puzzled by her new payroll calculations. It seems that when the payroll software updated its calculations, every single one of her employees had a decrease in take-home pay. She couldn’t understand it, and thought there must be a bug in the software. She said to us, “didn’t we all hear about 95% of us getting tax cuts?”. She genuinely doesn’t get it. She authorized payroll checks in the previous amounts on the assumption that it was a bug to work out rather than an actual increase in taxes owed. Next class should be interesting. She has a lot of faith in this administration, but admits to not knowing much about economics.

Dear God, please let the people in Washington get it. Taxes are the symptom NOT THE DISEASE!! Loss of the republic is the disease!! View this video, pass it on, especially bombard your representatives in DC and locally. FLOOD their emails!!! EDUCATE your legislatures in history. WE are repeating history, and the fall of Rome is gonna look like a walk in the park after this!!!

The video is a description of the 5 supposed forms of government, from 100% government control (Communism, fascism, totalitarianism etc) to 0% government (anarchy) it obliterates all forms of government as only temporary and futile except for 2, oligarchy and republic. It does this in a clear concise manner, which effectively shows even a grade schooler about them. It then, in the last few moments, explains Rome, its beginning as a republic, and its morph into a democracy. The parallels are well put, and clearly where this country is today. It is an excellent way to spread the word to those who have never been taught proper history, and that is alot of people since they have been re writing it for so long now.

I have been posting this sucker all over all day, and sometimes I forget that some are stuck at work, so I have included the above basic description of the video, however it does not do the video justice. I beg, implore and urge all to view it who have not. THIS is the reason we are so angry. Taxes are a symptom, losing our republic is the disease!!!!!

Smokers across the country may be caught by surprise when buying cigarettes or other tobacco products today as the nationwide tobacco tax increase takes effect. The 62 cent per pack tax increase on cigarettes has gotten some media coverage but the nearly 2200% tax increase on Roll Your Own (RYO) tobacco and even higher increase on small cigars hasn't received anywhere near the attention we believe it deserves. Some manufacturers and retailers are even taking advantage of the tax increase by raising the prices on $2 pouches of rolling tobacco to over $5. Frankly, this April Fool's joke doesn't strike me as being funny at all.

I don't care if you smoke or not......but I bet a 2200% tax on baby diapers would have people burning cars in the street. Stealth taxes......coming soon to you.
