Rosarito police officer's beheaded body found
San Diego Union-Tribune ^ | April 17, 2009

A Rosarito Beach police officer was found dead yesterday, a day after he was kidnapped, authorities said.

The Baja California Attorney General's Office identified the victim as Juan Eduardo Huerta Carrera, 49. His decapitated body was discovered inside a 2009 Dodge Durango with California plates found parked on the side of a highway.

Huerta had been reported kidnapped Wednesday from the entrance of an exclusive neighborhood. A police department spokesman said Huerta had been on the force less than a year and was an auxiliary officer.

Authorities reported the shooting death of Rosarito Beach's deputy police commander, Tomás Cárdenas, on April 4. Three days later, a group of federal police agents survived an ambush in Tecate.

A Tijuana police officer was shot to death and another gravely wounded in an attack April 11. So far this year, 10 officers from Tijuana and Rosarito have been killed. –O.M.G.

A Dodge Durango no doubt stolen from America = America's fault.

Look for an announcement from Zero saying such some time today.

auto thefts, beheadings, drug/gang wars, etc.

“an announcement from Zero”

Here it is:

“For his part, Mr. Obama barely mentioned the thorny issue of immigration other than to praise Mexicans’ cultural contributions and say that one-third of his home town of Chicago is of Mexican origin.” (`Calderon Presses US/Obama for Immigration Reform’, below)

I used to surf in the Rosarita Beach area back in the late 70’s and early 80’s. The Feds were brazen and corrupt back then but beyond those hassles it was still a pretty nice place to visit. It seems the entire place has gone to hell. What a sewer. Do Americans still travel to Rosarita and Ensenada? If so, I can't imagine why.

Once the Mexican government realizes this is war and not a police action they will begin to take their country back.

You forgot the knife, it was one of the 98 percent of knives from the US used to behead Mexican police officers.

A Dodge Durango no doubt stolen from America

Do you think that the owner will want it back?

Actually, if insurance has been paid out, the vehicle belongs to the insurance company. I am sure they'll want it back for resell. That begs the question, what sort of entry does that make for on Carfax?

So did I. I grew up in Huntington Beach where I and everyone I knew surfed. Trips to Mexico were frequent. We were lucky enough to avoid the corrupt Mexican officials, though. I wouldn't go near the place now.

My memory is hazy but wasn't it K50 and K35 that offered the best break? I remember a village nearby with a building that had only a Seven-Up bottle painted on its side. Inside was someones home where they had turned the main room into a restaurant. You could get a whole lobster, all the rice, beans and tortillas you could eat and a couple of Corona's for five bucks. Of course, you had to pay the kid out front a quarter to watch your car.

Back then, Hussongs Cantina was still the only place to go in town. The Federalis, like clockwork, would come to our cars when we were finished on the beach to relieve us of any extra tapes and cash we might have. We never argued with them and it was a good thing to have some of both. Good times.

K38, K55 and Salsipuedes were where we usually went. A friend had an old 8-door Checker airport shuttle that we'd take (similar to the pic below only twice as long). It was long enough to have 2 sets of racks on top. It wasn't good for getting around the streets of Ensenada though and that's where we would go for lobster.

Those were good times though I'm aware we were lucky to escape the corruption and other problems many we knew did not.

Not a surfer, but until just a couple of years ago once a year when my wife and I would visit my mom, now in her 90s we’d go to Rosarito. We’d ride horses on the beach, visit a favorite panadaria for the excellent Mexican pastries and then head south to the ‘Lobster Village’, Pureto Nuevo. Ten years ago, $11 bought you 3 small half lobsters, rice and beans. Last time we went the price was $15. Of course, we won’t go back any more.

I found the people to be warm and friendly. It is a shame that their government and thugs have turned a nice place into a hell hole.
