1 million attend tea parties in 50 states

An estimated 1 million Americans participated in at least 1,000 tea parties, according to reports by organizers tabulating the nationwide numbers, with documented protests held in 50 states.

Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform told WND, "The Obama administration has awakened a sleeping giant."

Tax Day Tea Party national event coordinator Amy Kremer told WND she has confirmed that more than 850 parties took place. She has at least 100 more reports in her e-mail inbox that have not been posted.

Asked how many people attended the events, she responded, "I would estimate it at over 1 million. I'm waiting on more numbers to come in from organizers right now. I can tell you it is absolutely over 750,000 right now."

I noticed that the 912 Project and the Tea Parties were not coordinating and organizing events together. I was relying on information about the Tea Parties in my state at one web site and the 912 events were not listed there. I was unaware of two events that would have been closer or easier for me to get to than the one in our Capitol city.

I did not know about those two events until the next day. It looks like the two different coordinators did not want to advertise their events on each others web sites.

That is correct. If you multiply each person that attended by 10,, just whow!!!.

That is the equasion that I have always heard to use. Then to go on, multiply that 10 by 10. Just give you pause to think about what it is and can be.

“We want to send a message to them: We hired them; we can fire them. They work for us. They seem to have forgotten that.”

What I’m concerned about it voter fraud. ACORN, a corrupted census count, paid off judges and corrupt politicians. We saw a level of it during the presidential election and the problem is only going to get bigger. The “leaders” will make sure our will isn’t taken into account. Good candidates will be stopped before they can make it to the final ballots. Those for the status quo will tell us whatever we want to hear to get elected.

This is no longer a government of, for and by the people.

Those are amazing statistics. I’m surprised at how successful this round turned out.

You said: "I, personally, don’t even want to hear a politician speak at one of these grassroots rallies - I want them to LISTEN and observe"

I Agree, I do not want to see one politician at these events on the podium, I do not want them to be passing out their campaign literature, I want them to SHUT UP and SIT DOWN for a change and Listen as you said.

I do not want to ever see a candidate set up shop at one of these events, EVER. These events are not a FREE RIDE for them, yet they seem to think we are captives, and yes there was one that I saw maybe more, at our event in OKC.

The scarey thing for this liberal administration and press is not just the protest, which was huge, even going with the conservative estimate of 350,000, but the response from
passing citizens.

We had a good turnout in Cumming Ga. but the honking from motorists was louder than I’ve ever heard, almost continous. This response if nationwide should be considered a force multiplyer of three or four. This would
bring our numbers up to a million and a quarter,
all with out busing in union members, and community activists and political organizers.

Truely grassroots.

Rule of thumb legislators in our state had always told us is that for every one who speaks out there are 10 who don’t who feel the same.

Don't you mean there are ten who feel the same way (not don't)?

So true. One has an advantage when under estimated by the enemy. A sleeping giant is awake and they don’t even realize it.
