Vanity: The next step after the Tea Parties
myself/national conference of state legislatures | April 16, 2009 | myself/

Posted on 04/16/2009 7:56:52 PM PDT by JSDude1

Dear FRiends,

I have been thinking of a way to keep momentum up, right away (and get some real political hay behind the movement):

I do not live in any of these 19 or so states, but some of you do (and it could be worthwhile and channel the tea party energy into them): ESPECIALLY IN STATES LIKE California or New Jersey, which some of you live in..

Here goes: WHY NOT "recall" some of your more problem legislators, creation of petition drives to recally your villiage idiots would go a long way toward remedying our problems as a nation:

I have provided this link to help you out:

http://www.ncsl.org/programs/legismgt/elect/recallprovision.htm

HEAR! HEAR!

TOPICS: Crime/Corruption; Politics/Elections; US: California; US: New Jersey
KEYWORDS: elections; recall; representatives; teaparty

If you are going to recall someone, be sure the person you want to get elected is ready to run a campaign in the recall election and have the funding to do so. Otherwise, your candidate will be defeated and the recall movement will look like so much foolishness.

If this can be turned into a defeat of "Astroturf" Pelosi the dominos in the House and Senate will fall.

Recall turncoat RINO Anthony Adams.

He represents the Glendora/San Dimas area in California.

My suggestion is to start at the beginning.

The majority of those involved in Tea Party organizing are not experienced organizers. Many are first timers who had to rely on whoever seemed to step up to assist in the organization efforts. Some of those who assisted were able to follow through. Not all of them were.

So, if those who had the courage and commitment to organize a Tea Party event took the time to go through their lists of who proved able and who didn’t, discard those who didn’t and ask those who did to begin building their own crew of able assistants, a true distributed operations type grass roots movement could get more solid and viable for long term effect.

Also, documentation on lessons learned would be useful to have as an accessible guide to those who wish to stand up and help in the future.

A true, viable, durable and motivated grass roots organization not tied to a specific political party is, imo, the first step in the process.

Such an organization, as a counter force to entrenched political and/or aggressively leftist organizations, such as ANSWER is most very necessary.

An organization such as that would be much more able to develop independent funding sources to support candidates for office, oppose destructive legislation, etc... and, potentially grow to enough strength to effectively counter organizations such as MoveOn.

I think we have got the media scratching their heads.
They don’t think we can use the internet.
They don’t think we are capable of organizing.
They don’t think...!

We need to take back some Educational land by teaching
ACTUAL history wherever and whenever possible. Start
in your neighborhood. Use the “Truth Project” from
Focus On The Family. Show movies like “John Adams” and
“Amazing Grace”. Serve cookies and encourage discussion.

Tell them they are to question their teachers. It’s what
their teachers did in the 60’s. They questioned everything
and everyone with authority. Now it’s not allowed to question
them. Well that needs to change.

Teach them to think critically.

My opinion as always.

Rolling Roadbblocks.
What we do is protest by clogging the nation’s interstates, highways, and busy roads.... drive 15 under the speed-limit (make that 30 in DC).
Of course we have to have a LOT of people on-board to make this work. But imagine the instantaneous, undeniable attention it would generate.
(The truckers did it once to protest a fuel tax... the tax was repealed within DAYS.)

I agree, and keep it grass roots, respect the opinions of all (though not all are “Correct”), we need to let creativity and innovation (in political/social acitivism) to occur..and for our heritage to reassert itself. I agree with all your points, though except getting rid of the others, they may not have had their gifts utilized, or been buisy/sick, plus I’d rather not turn anyone away from the movement unless they were being deliberatly destructive or distruptive toward it.

>Teach them to think critically.

Bingo. Logic is king. Is wearing a weapon to a public rally illegal? (Hint: I live in an open-carry state, the rally was a TEA party.)

What is something that is not illegal? Legal?
Why don’t we ask AIG executives.

“>Teach them to think critically.”

Except for the fact that in most of our educational systems, “Critical Thinking” means total subservience to the leftist ideology that is so horribly destructive in our culture and society.

The primary concern, imo again, at this stage in the process is to start the development of solid and dependable teams of assistants for those who had it in themselves to stand up and take charge.

There’s always a place for those of lesser commitment, of course, but not on those teams where follow-through and competence are “make or break” issues.

Take it from an old radical, rabble-rousing activist at Berkeley in the '60's:

Do whatever you want as spin-off activities and keep building spirit that way.

AND, first and foremost, make sure another Nationwide Tea Party recurs no later than July 4th. And a third one should be in the works by then to be held in the fall.

Yep, July 4th Across the Nation, then September (This will be the whopper IMO, at least that’s my vision; if we “March on D.C.).

July 4th.

IMHO, that is the single, most effective thing we can do.

My reply was meant for the same post you replied to with your reply.

Sorry ‘bout that.

Too much tabbing back and forth between sites as I look for TEA Party results. I got lost. Where’s a thread GPS when I need one?

Yes, 4th of July whether in our towns or in DC. 4th of July is a Saturday this year, perfect opportunity to get all the working folks who couldn’t join us yesterday out and about. Would sure infuse the true spirit of America more than in many years past.

LOL - I know what you mean, which is why I asked you to re-look at my post; it seemed that the “conversation” had a misscommunication.

My son did this through his years post grade school. Respectfully, as I would not support anything else, but he did question and dig deeper for answers. I recall he had a teacher in history who made it her purpose to haunt his high school years ...the solution was to collect, with a couple of other parents, enough intel for my attorney to write a cease and desist letter to the school system.

The teachers often are not capable of intellectually or emotionally handling questions but are very capable of being putative.

I challenged all the time when I was in school, most could handle it but it was a small town with traditional values and a different time.

Before anyone accuses of bashing teachers, my mother was a teacher for over 40 years and a darn good one.
