Speeches by gunnybob and Jon Caldera of the Independence Institute. Some local politicians also spoke.

Thousands of people jammed onto the steps of the state capitol this afternoon to lash out against proposed tax increases, but only a few turned up at a similar rally in Seattle.
Thousands of people jammed onto the steps of the state capitol this afternoon to lash out against proposed tax increases.
One state trooper said the crowd of 4,000 was eight times larger than what rally organizers planned for. The trooper said it was the largest rally at the Capitol in years.
In stark contrast stood a Lake City rally at the same time, which had a draw of two dozen.
The Olympia crowd cheered when speakers called President Barack Obama a socialist and waved their American flags and signs reading "Save Our Children Stop Spending" to "Party like 1773," in reference to the 1773 Boston Tea Party.
Though the event was part of a national tax day tea party movement, there were no attendees dressed in colonial garb. Janice Gammill of Graham wore a necklace fashioned out of tea bags peppermint and green tea "for the greenies" she added.
"I'm just worried about the direction our country is going," said Gammill, who attended the event with her daughter and her domestic partner, who also were adorned with tea bags.
Jon Allsop of Lopez Island said the federal government is "totally out of control."
We just got back from one of the Salt Lake City Tea Parties. It was at the Federal Bldg. at noon. I’m guessing we probably had 1000 people there. Pretty good turn out, considering it is bombing snow today. I saw business men on their lunch breaks, shivering in their suits in the pounding snow, holding handwritten signs. Whole families all bundled up against the weather, kids with their own signs, babies either in strolllers or in dad’s arms. A lot of young people, too.
I was at the first Tea Party in March. We had about 60-75 people at that one, so the word is spreading, and this is growing.
It started out as a rainy day but as soon as we started to sing the Star Spangled Banner the sun came out - we were blessed by God!
Slide show of all photos (sorry some of them are out of focus).
I left the Fort Lauderdale TP about 20 minutes ago. I estimate about 300 people, maybe more. Lots of support from passing motorists. Didn’t notice any potential infiltrators. No pictures, sorry.
I hope these links work, first time I tried it. Supposedly about 500 in the two Bethlehem locations, and about 2000 in Harrisburg. We were in Harrisburg, and it POURED from about 11:30 to 1:30. Buckets. This was our first attendance at anything like this. Most of the people seemed like very nice families. The people around us were so nice, I wished I had more time to talk with them and get to know them. We did not see any disrupters at all, except a few people from something like cryptogod.com, except that doesn't seem to exist, so I forget exactly what it was, trying to make it into a religious rally, rather obnoxious, but they stepped aside when the speakers started. The main feature of the rally was the rain!
Here is our U.S. Congressman, The Honorable Louie Gohmert. Just wish there were 500 more Louie's in Washington D.C. and America would be alright.
Winner of the funniest sign.
Even Conservative Canines showed up to voice disproval.
AP - Thousands of protesters, some dressed like Revolutionary War soldiers and most waving signs with anti-tax slogans, gathered around the nation Wednesday for a series of rallies modeled after the original Boston Tea Party. They chose the income tax filing deadline to express their displeasure with government spending since President Barack Obama took office.
Surprisingly accurate for the MSM.
Just got back from the one in St. Augustine, FL. At the height we had about 500 people in front of the oldest fort in the country.
Good turn out. Great signs. Lots of friendly folks.
Many people honking for suppports.
PS I don’t know how to upload pics.
More than 2,000 people are expected to converge in Downtown Peoria on Wednesday to protest what they believed to be out-of-control government spending during a tax day “tea party,” a modern spinoff of the Boston Tea Party.
No streets are being closed. Police said since organizers of several groups involved said they plan to move around and not rally in one place.
The event will start at 11 a.m. in the Peoria Public Library parking lot at Southwest Monroe and Hamilton streets. It is largely organized by the Campaign for Liberty. Protesters will walk from the federal courthouse to Peoria County Courthouse and around. It's part of a nonpartisan nationwide effort that will take place in more than 500 cities.
Anyone is invited to attend.”

Justin Abatie is "Tea'd off".
"The answer to 2009 is 1776. Whoo!," Justin shouted into his megaphone on the steps of the Peoria County Courthouse.
Like the colonists in Boston, who revolted against burdensome British taxation in 1773, Abatie, and an estimated 3,000 thousand others, staged their own "Tea Party" Wednesday in downtown Peoria. TEA, or TEA, stands for "taxed enough already".
"Out of control spending is running rampant through Washington these days," Abatie told News 25, "and our elected officials are just not listening to what the people have to say. We elected them and we are their bosses and they work for us, we do not work for them."
Kathleen Healde is worried about the burden the federal debt will put on her grandchildren.
"I have a 2 year-old granddaughter and an 11 year-old grandson," said Healde, "and I feel the money is being spent terribly. Terribly. And I think theyre going to pay for it and its an unfair burden."
There were more than 300 Tea Parties on Tax Day all across America - 13 of them in Illinois. At all of them, people are saying they're fed up with massive government spending, complaining that the federal government has grown into exactly what George Washington and the founders fought to defeat over 230 years ago.
"The Constitution is almost being disregarded in todays world," said Greg Albrecht. "A lot of people argue that its old and outdated, but its worked for over 200 years."
Christina Arndt is especially passionate about today's event.
"Two of my ancestors, Daniel Carroll of The Constitution and John Carroll the Declaration of Independence, risked their lives. It says in our Constitution that we have a right, when the government is against us, that we can form our own and thats what were doing."
"Were fed up," said a man named Scott, who declined to provide his last name. "And if they dont adhere to The Constitution theyll be out of a job in two or four years."
That's because those gathered Wednesday at the courthouse believe America belongs to "We the People".
