U.S. says recession fueling right-wing extremism
Reuters ^ | 4/14/09 | Jane Sutton

Posted on 04/14/2009 12:34:16 PM PDT by anniegetyourgun

MIAMI (Reuters) - Right-wing extremists in the United States are gaining new recruits by exploiting fears about the economy and the election of the first black U.S. president, the Department of Homeland Security warned in a report to law enforcement officials.

The April 7 report, which Reuters and other news media obtained Tuesday, said such fears were driving a resurgence in "recruitment and radicalization activity" by white supremacist groups, antigovernment extremists and militia movements. It did not identify any by name.

DHS had no specific information about pending violence and said threats had so far been "largely rhetorical."

But it warned that home foreclosures, unemployment and other consequences of the economic recession "could create a fertile recruiting environment for right-wing extremists."

"To the extent that these factors persist, right-wing extremism is likely to grow in strength," DHS said.

It did not identify any by name.

Yes, Reuters they did.

For one, they said military veterans.

This administration sickens me more each day.

No, the “U.S.” is NOT “saying” this.

Obama’s Department of Homeland Security is saying this,

and they have, in typical leftist fashion, decided to criminalize those who oppose their policies.

The terms “right wing” and “extremism” themselves have been redefined by the Left’s shadow government.

The Presidential Campaign of John McCain ALSO fueled the Right Wing in ways that Obama, the Pravda Media, and even John McCain did not approve.

No violence. No threats. Just rhetoric on issues that they disagreed with.

It’s not the recession that’s fueling things, it’s the SOCIALISM!

And patriotism isn’t “right wing extremism”.

If you want an idea of who is being PROFILED as a “right wing extremist”, read this excerpt:
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=94803

“The report from DHS’ Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines right-wing extremism in the U.S. as “divided into those groups, movements and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups) and those that are mainly anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.”

I WILL NOT GET INTO THE BOXCAR.

Then they will bring the Boxcar to you.

Bockscar, sometimes called Bock's Car or Bocks Car, is the name of the United States Army Air Forces B-29 bomber that dropped the "Fat Man" nuclear weapon over Nagasaki on 9 August 1945, the second atomic weapon used against Japan.

Now that we have embraced Cuba, we are embracing its methods.

Cuba criminalized political dissent. So the US is now doing, pretending it is for "security" reasons.

According to a famous international “anti-fascist” organization that rioted in Toledo Ohio, you are a member of a fascist group merely by being registered with FreeRepublic. PS, they also branded President Bush a fascist.

The media never identified their own organization as an anarchist collective that also promoted disobedience against police.

“it warned that home foreclosures, unemployment and other consequences of the economic recession “could create a fertile recruiting environment for right-wing extremists.”

Economic stupidity by Democrats creates Republican voters...

Gee... Who’d a thunk it.
I can see why the current Democrat-run government would consider that a threat worthy of LAW ENFORCEMENT INVOLVEMENT. Hello thought police.

The whole point is to make the “Tea-bagger’s” look like crazy radicals that “normal people” don’t want to be involved with, like what happened to the militia movement after Oklahoma city.

You don’t want your good name associated with “THOSE PEOPLE”, do you?

I really hope all of you who “Stayed home to prove a point!” and Paulista folks realize you are getting EVERYTHING you didn’t bother to vote for!

They try to hammer home that Fascist and Communist are “opposites” but actually they are both Socialist totalitarian orders.

Let's get it straight; you know, tell the truth and shame the devil?

He is NOT the first black president, he is the first black imposter. He is neither a natural born American, he is a Kenyan from Africa, and he defrauded the election through ACORN and Project Vote, both vote fraud organizations.

obama is an illegitimate imposter, and it is time for Americans to act like adults, and remove him from the presidency. Impeachment is an excellent vehicle, as he has already committed a number of impeachable offenses.

“I believe this is part of a viral, concerted effort to demonize and marginalize conservatives”

I’ve been trying to scream that FOR WEEKS...
What sucks is to see the Daily KOS talking points being repeated over and over by the media (MANY of whom, especially the gay support staff. post on KOS).

Hundreds of thousands of people, perhaps millions, in an unorganized GRASS-ROOTS effort is a threat to the corrupt Obamunists that are now in charge. Community organizing must ONLY be a tool of the Democrat Party, anything else is a danger.

It must be destroyed, and made “uncool” as quickly as possible, hence the “Tea-Baggers” gay references.

They are trying to accomplish the same thing with this, as they did with the “CONTRACT ON AMERICA”. Demonize it, and make it unpopular through ridicule.

"RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)"

Sound vaguely familiar?

Clinton used the OKC bombing to successfully intimidate talk radio. It’s a shell of what it used to be, with almost no focus on political correctness, feminism, overreaching judges, and social issues.

It’s surface politics, the economy and taxes. That’s it. Not like 1994.

I have a subtle difference with Moley...

a central economy cannot be implemented (even tried) in the absence of a police state.

Have you read “Road to Serfdom”?
Hayek says that

you can’t have a little bit of collectivism
you can’t have benevolent collectivism
collectivism must be harsh, tyrannical, and arbitrary
those in authority will necessarily be the most cruel people in society

They try to hammer home that Fascist and Communist are “opposites” but actually they are both Socialist totalitarian orders.

From a 1939 book called “The VAMPIRE ECONOMY-Doing Business Under Fascism” written by a German.

“You have no idea how far state control goes and how much power the Nazi representatives have over our work. The worst of it is that they are so ignorant. These Nazi radicals think of nothing except ‘distributing the wealth.’ Some businessmen have even started studying Marxist theories, so that they will have a better understanding of the present economic system.

“While state representatives are busily engaged in investigating and interfering, our agents and salesmen are handicapped because they never know whether or not a sale at a higher price will mean denunciation as a ‘profiteer’ or ‘saboteur,’ followed by a prison sentence. You cannot imagine how taxation has increased. Yet everyone is afraid to complain.

Everywhere there is a growing undercurrent of bitterness. Everyone has his doubts about the system, unless he is very young, very stupid, or is bound to it by the privileges he enjoys.
