Cheered wildly by U.S. troops, begins Jennifer Democratic Operative Lovens AP report on Obamas surprise visit to Iraq on Tuesday.
Quite a contrast to the silent treatment Marines gave Obama at his Camp LeJeune speech in late February. Just how did Obama manage to fix that little problem?
According to a sergeant in Iraq :
*****We were pre-screened, asked by officials Who voted for Obama?, and then those who raised their hands were shuffled to the front of the receiving line. They even handed out digital cameras and asked them to hold them up. [Via Macsmind.]****
As supporting evidence for the digital-cameras part of the story, the sergeant (or Mac, cant tell which), suggests that the identical cameras can be verified in the AP photos. Looks right:
Charles Dharapak/associated press
So will the press cover this evidence of a staged and unrepresentative show of military affection for our anti-military president? The reporters were there. Did they actually see the troops being sorted by whether they voted for Obama, which the sergeant describes as happening on the spot?
Stephen Hursts AP report is upfront about Obamas fervent desire for a heros welcome:
WASHINGTON President Barack Obama went for the defining television shot by capping his first extended foreign tour with a surprise visit to Iraq.
He got it pictures of hundreds of U.S. troops cheering wildly as he told them it was time for the Iraqis to take charge of their own future.
Just no mention of HOW Obama managed to fake this response: Obama lovers to the front!
FLASHBACK: How the press treated the merest impression of a staged troop response under President Bush, even when there was no actual manipulation
Remember this headline from 2005:
Bush Teleconference With Soldiers Staged
It dominated the headlines and the television news-analysis for days, and the fabricated scandal was utterly dishonest. The so-called staging involved no manipulation whatsoever. A group of soldiers who were scheduled for a televised chat with President Bush were caught on tape discussing ahead of time who would answer questions on what subjects. There was NO discussion of WHAT should be said.
Now there is evidence that Obama perpetrated an actual fraud right under the watching eyes of the press, handpicking Obama voters to represent on television the views of our soldiers, and the press reports nothing but the fraudulent story.
Piling it on
Of course the AP stories about Obamas surprise Iraq trip are larded with other bits of pro-Obama, anti-Bush disinformation as well. Hurst ends with his own interpretation of the glorious new age of Obama:
The world has been alerted to a new U.S. approach that breaks with the go it alone style of Bush.
Go it alone as in going into Iraq with a coalition of 40 countries and an evenly split minority party (same degree of Democrat support in the Senate as opposition in the House).
Neither did the press note the glaring counter-factuals in Obamas speech. From The New York Times:
The president said that it was time for Iraqis to take responsibility for their country and for their sovereignty.
So why does it take Gateway Pundit to point out that sovereignty has already been transferred in 13 of 18 provinces?
All the disinformation that fits in print.

Despicable manipulation and stagecraft ... using our brave military, no less. Sickening fraud!
~~No words ......
My tagline.
Unreal manipulation. Someone posted a video showing Bush with Marines and Obama (not this event). It looked like the Marines were picked at random. The Marines cheered for Bush while they were stone cold for O.
Hussein and his people especially Rahm are evil.
As a retired military type for the first time I question the members of the military who voted for this POS.
He traces his entire political career back to communists and still keeps them close. Everything he does is communist in nature and yet there are people in uniform who think he is great.
His anti-US views are not hidden and so I try to find where any military member can vote for him and still not violate their oath of office or enlistment.
BTTT
All we feel is outrage and all we can do is hope and pray the “O” is exposed every day!!!
When I was in the Navy, they tried to do the same thing when Clinton showed up. They tried to get a welcoming crowd but NO ONE volunteered. People were ordered to greet him.
(I hid.)
do I really have to say it???
I guess we are lucky they weren’t handed a little red flag and little red book.
Comrade Chavez is truly proud.
As our military is less than 12% black, this is an awful dark picture.
Time to take a deep breath.
IF this were the case, we would likely have
1) More than one source - the FOBs do have internet access
2)Sources other than an (un-named) enlisted. IF a superiour (high ranking) officer pulled this kind of blatent stunt, I have no doubt the many professional soldiers would call him/her on it. So we would have more backscatter.
3) Who got the cameras to hand out like candy? Sound lke FWA - again, someone would low the wistle on this part.
IS it possible that the SS (seecrit service) wanted a small group and the local officials thought ‘bammay voters would get the most enjoyment out of the dog and pony show?
THis kind of carp can happen - years ago, when ‘lil Bill and Hil come a visiting to Elmendorf to see “their troops” attendance was madated, so I can see this Iraq as pluasable. THat folk were forved to show was also very well known in the community. Nothing in the press of couse, the Bill and HIll show was a Dem production after all.
In the end, if the group huggie/hopechangethingie was a staged event, it says a lot about the “leadership” of our Nations warfighters, and what it says it not good.

About that Obama Iraq Visit
*snip*
Yeah Jennifer we get the point. Still the lowest casualty rate in any war in the modern era - a testament to the professionalism of our men and women in uniform. Fact is more died on active duty during Clintons reign. Nevertheless, about that surprise visit.
It wasnt. The visit was communicated a full 24 hours in advance and a small contingent of soldiers - not screaming hoards - were rustled into a meeting place at Camp Victory.
Got this email from a sergeant that was there.
We were pre-screened, asked by officials Who voted for Obama?, and then those who raised their hands were shuffled to the front of the receiving line. They even handed out digital cameras and asked them to hold them up.
Take a look at the picture at AP and notice all the cameras are the same models? Coincidence? I think not.

So much of what the now failing nascent obama regime does IS just one great Potemkin village display.
Of course any carefully choreographed appearance seems to show him being cheered....
The power of a posed “spontaneous” demonstration.
Unmitigated fraud Alert!
Maybe a flash would have helped
Say isn’t that a picture of the new officer selection process?
Wait until they get tapped and re-tapped and re-tapped for the Afghanistan “contingency operation”.
He has to fake woo them now, they’re nowhere NEAR done.
These people are on the cutting edge and will be the first selectees of the coming “Civilian Security Defense Force”, which shall have the same rank and authority as the military, but shall have extraordinary powers as a national police force, responsible to the highest levels in the now failing nascent obama regime.
In an effort to avoid total failure. Have to restore confidence in The Anointed Won, doncha know.
The lefties group photo ops are always prescreened. Just like Hitler and so many others of their kind.
Dearlord ... and it’s less than 100 days! God bless and protect our incredible, intrepid military. I wonder what the retirement/no re up rate will be in the coming months. How can they abide his anti-Americanism ?

To whomever it may concern:
I am an active duty Marine coming to the waning days of my enlistment. After my contract is up I will pursue a career in Law Enforcement. I know that the prevailing attitude among some calling for revolution is that the military and cops are this generations jack booted thugs.
I was afraid of that myself and felt hypocritical to still want to be a police officer.
It felt relieving to find the Oath Keepers.
I am afraid that the powers that be will force a showdown with the people.

LT. COMMANDER GUY CUNNINGHAM, AUTHOR OF THE 29 PALMS SURVEY, WILL BE A GUEST SPEAKER AT THE APRIL 19, 2009 RALLY ON THE LEXINGTON GREEN!
Oath Keepers and Committees of Safety have just received confirmation that Lt. Commander Guy Cunningham (U.S. Navy, Ret.) will be a guest speaker at our rally on the Lexington, Massachusetts Green on April 19, 2009, where we will reaffirm our oaths.
Go here to read the Oath Keepers post about the Lexington rally. Or go here for the Committees of Safety announcement.
Lt. Commander Cunningham was the author of the famous 29 Palms Survey in 1995 that asked Marines if they would serve under U.N. Command and also if they would fire on American citizens who resisted attempts to disarm them.
Lt. CMDR Cunningham will speak at the April 19 muster on why he conducted that survey, the lessons learned from the results, and how it relates directly to the Oath Keepers mission and to the central importance of the oath we all took to defend the Constitution.
Lt. CMDR Cunningham (who served in Special Forces before becoming a Naval officer) is a true patriot and a man who risked his career to explore the vital questions of how U.S. military personnel are being conditioned to undertake missions that are in contradiction to our Constitution, such as conditioning the troops to serve under U.N. command, and how troops are not sufficiently instructed about the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence.
His study, and his observations on the results, are very relevant to our mission as Oath Keepers
Lt. CMDR Cunningham is, at this time, writing a special article and introduction to his survey, and once he is finished writing that article, we will post it along with his full, original survey on this site for you to read. Check back here over the next couple of days for more info.
Do not miss the chance to hear him speak at the rally on April 19, 2009 on Lexington Green, in Lexington Massachusetts! You will have the opportunity, after the rally, to ask him questions (and also to speak with the rest of our amazing guests!).

Disabled Army Veteran is True to His Oath
My name is Richard Mears. I served in the US Army for seven and a half years. I was injured in a non-combat incident in May of 2003, at Balad, Iraq. I was forced to take a medical discharge and leave the military. I wish that I was still in. I would take this pledge in a heartbeat, without a second thought. Maybe we need another pledge. A pledge by American citizens to stand up and actually fight back if orders are passed down along the lines of what is in the pledge.
I, for one, will not sit down or lay down, nor stand idly by, if and when freedoms are taken away from Americans. I will fight. I will stand.

Easy to register and free ... good idea
to register at DIGG — gets this type
of article the MSM WON’T tell shown to
the world.
Remember when Bush made the surprise Thanksgiving trip to Iraq? The MSM first claimed that he carried a plastic turkey, and then they tried to gin up the story that the White House falsified a flight plan when the plane pretended to be another flight when contacted by radio.
-PJ
It certainly looked staged to me. I found myself wondering how did they get all of the troops in just the right place for his speech.
bttt
I knew it had to be staged
My husband and I certainly didn’t vote for him. I know very few military members who did, despite what the MSM keeps trying to say. I do see Veterans for Obama stickers still on cars from time to time, but they are far outweighed by the McCain/Palin stickers still remaining on vehicles. My husband told me that they only people he encounters in his duties that admit voting for Obama are black almost to the last one. So if others voted for him, they are too ashamed to admit it now.

I’ve thought that maybe we need to have a Freeper’s Daily Digg list...it’s one thing we can actually do to help promote news stories.
I knew it!
The term you are looking for is
This story is true.
I agree.
I am disgusted with this use of our military members. Identical cameras. Good heavens.
I’m a spouse, didn’t vote for Obama.
I don’t know, for sure, whom my husband voted for. He does not talk about his voting, nor does he attend political gatherings or rallies. After 20 years of marriage I could make a pretty good guess, if pressed. He has defended my (and your) right to do so for the last 26 years, and God willing, will do so for another year or so before retiring.
When our son put campaign bumper stickers on his car, we made him scrape the military identification stickers off the car. Since we do not live on base this was not a problem. If we lived on base, he would not have been allowed to have them on the car, no matter whom they supported. (The stickers were ‘Nope’ and some other anti-Obama thing.) We are really mean that way.
I think that minorities are much more likely to have voted for Obama. I think it would be cool to have a black president if it weren’t him. Others who voted for him may have been disgusted with some of the Bush administration’s policies, or specific administrative persons in the initial years of the present war, or did not care for McCain as he had not been a great friend to the military as a Senator. Although his heroism as a service member himself is widely respected. There was a whole lot more support for McCain as far as I could see, in the military community.
I am crazy about Sarah Palin. I can’t wait to see what she does next, although after the mill she has been put through - if I were her I might decide to stay at home next go ‘round.
Clinton was nearly universally despised during his years, again, as far as I could tell. I think Obama might actually be worse, and worse for morale. The parallel someone mentioned with the USS Cole precipitating 9/11, and Obama’s present behavior gives me the creeps. And let’s not forget ‘Blackhawk Down’.
I was so glad to read about the rescue a little bit ago of the ship captain.
Sorry, my point with the bumper sticker thing, is that they shouldn’t have been asking whom they voted for in the first place. At all. That is just wrong.
Bush never did in fact he would meet with people who opposed him. But didn’t make it a national headline. A good friend’s son is over there and was a strong Kerry backer and Bush met with him and some other Kerry voters.
I know 50 people who are serving now or have served in Iraq or Afghanistan. (volunteer here for various things). 38 voted for McCain, 4 for Obama and 8 Independent.
Your 4th photo must be a fake, we know from Zero’s event, digital cameras only come in silver.
I agree. NOBODY should be asking members of the military who they voted for! That's just wrong!
