Pictured: Shocking moment polar bear attacks woman who climbed into zoo enclosure

This is the terrifying moment a woman was attacked by a polar bear after jumping into its zoo enclosure.

The 32-year-old leapt over bars at Berlin Zoo during the bears' feeding time yesterday.

Despite six zookeepers' efforts to distract the four predators kept in the enclosure, the woman was bitten several times on her arms and legs.

The brave keepers eventually managed to push the bear away and pull the woman to safety.

She was bitten by one of the four older polar bears in the enclosure and not by the famous Knut, who took Germany by storm as a cub after he was hand-raised by a keeper.

It is not known why the woman pulled the dangerous stunt but she initially appeared to be elated as she swam towards a bear in the enclosure.

I am just glad the bear was not harmed.. too often in these stories, the poor animal ends up being shot in order to save the idiot human. I am specifically thinking of those morons at the San Francisco zoo who teased a lion.

At first I was going to say that calling her an idiot would be an insult to idiots.

But it is actually pretty sad that such large portions of the populations of so many advanced societies have been so dumbed-down by government-run education and so brainwashed by political correctness (through all its manifold agents: education, the left-leaning church, pop culture) that they really think that a beast like a polar bear would just dive in the water and play with what it surely sees as nothing more than food.

This was my initial thought as well after reading the article. It said that she appeared to be elated as she approached the bear. This is a Darwin Award candidate if I’ve ever seen one.

Several years ago a couple of kids on a class trip in NYC hid out after the trip was over. One of the kids decided to go swimming in the polar bear encloser.

They found his remains the next day.
